Typical diplomat, no mention of what is most important to retirees, Health Care.
Does it change, or not?
I'm pleased he is not our ambassador.

I am pondering this question about health care ?
Should we be allowed free health care if we are not in Europe anymore ?
If we retired to say America , we would have to take out a private health care plan,
so why should we get it free here ?

:goodpost
I agree, us Israeli retirees don't, why should British retirees?
However, also on another thread, I read that UK and Cyprus had reciprocal healthcare
plan before either Country was an EU Member State. Does that still apply after Brexit?

It is NOT 'free' healthcare, it is and has been paid for through National Insurance contributions.
There are many countries that expats retire to who are not entitles because there is no reciprocal agreement between them and the UK
The healthcare reciprocal agreement between the UK and Cyprus was set up before Cyprus joined the EU.

It is worth noting that the UK State Pension is NOT a benefit, again it has been paid for.
Many pensioners who live in countries that have a reciprocal agreement on pensions receive the annual increase. Many only get the pension they were getting when they retired (no annual increase) who live in countries like Australia and the USA to name a couple
