Bosom Buddies are back for Kat with Music, Luxury Food and their Razzle Dazzle Competition.
Last year saw the launch of Bosom Buddies, a group of local ladies who got together and raised funds for three local Cancer charities. On Sunday March 18th Bosom Buddies would like to present their Afternoon tea party and fashion show titled, “Truly Scrumptious” this indicates the luxurious element of the Afternoon Tea Menu, which is being provided by the Kefalos hotel, just off Tomb of the Kings Road. The event will be opened with songs from the ladies at 2pm then proceed with part 1 of the Fashion show with the formal outfits supplied by Occasionally Suited from Tala and everyday fashion by Here and Now based in Peyia. (Don’t forget to bring along the men in your life, the fashion industry is not solely for ladies and I feel sure the entertainment will be enjoyed by men and women alike.) The truly Scrumptious Afternoon Tea will be served, during which Bosom Buddies will perform more of their songs followed by part 2 of the Fashion Show and closing with a spectacular finale by the ladies. The entertainment will be made up of many popular songs from the 60’s up to present day; it will be worth paying the ticket price of €15, which includes the luxury tea, just to see their alternative Britney Spears act. A little bird tells me there may be a cartwheel taking place to replicate the original video, but that may depend on the generosity of the audience on the day, bets are already being placed to one Bosom Buddy but you will have to attend to see the outcome of this one. The whole day is based around fun, there will be a few fashion related stalls to accompany the event and many local businesses have generously donated raffle prizes. A spokeswoman for the event Ali commented, “We hope to raise at least €1000 for Kat Hadjipetrou, everyone knows her story so we hope you will all come, enjoy the fun of the day and help us to achieve our fundraising goal.”
I conjunction with this event, Bosom Buddies have launched their “Razzle Dazzle” design a t-shirt competition. This is open to all ages from a toddler who can hold a crayon to a pensioner who can hold a Zimmer. There are four age categories and three finalists will be picked out of each section prior to the event, they will be invited to parade their art as part of the fashion show, where the audience will pick their favourite from each category and an overall winner will be announced. The cost to enter is €3.50 including a T shirt and all T-shirts will be returned to you after the event, (so even if you decide not to enter you get a very good quality T shirt and make a donation to a worth cause).
As with most fund raising events everyone is giving their time free of charge and Bosom Buddies will name and praise all local companies who donated prizes, space, time or sponsorship to help them achieve their success.
