"Voices of Cyprus - Singing for Charity"

will showcase the skills of six choirs in an event to raise much needed funds for local charities each choir has chosen a charity it will be supporting.. This will be the first of what is hoped to be an annual concert, and will take place in February 2016 at The Base Venue on the Paphos Airport Road.

The choirs taking part are:
Harmony, supporting Cyprus Kidney Association (Paphos), Island Blend supporting PASYCAF, Limassol, Paphos Voices supporting Alzheimer's Association, Orphean Singers supporting The Friends Hospice, Paphos Zingers supporting Cancer Patients Support Group/PASYCAF and finally Phoenix Singers who will be singing in support of Theokotos Foundation.

This should provide a unique opportunity to listen to a variety of musical styles and talents.

Tickets will shortly be on sale and cost will be €10. Show starts at 7pm with bar open from 6pm. Transport maybe available from Polis, Limassol and Peyia if required.

Singing is great therapy and song is one medium that brings people together, regardless of faith, nationalities or any other differences we humans perceive to have. Whether you sing or enjoy listening to those who sing, there is no doubt that it does indeed bring people together. So if you haven't already booked your ticket for the largest musical event in Cyprus, which will take place on Saturday 27th February, then you should be calling the hotline now.
It is to be hosted at one of the largest venues in Paphos, The Base Events, on the Airport Road, who are kindly offering their venue free of charge.
It doesn't matter what your preference genre of music taste you have, you will hear it on this night when, not one, not two but five choirs come together and showcase their individual talents.
It has taken 5 choirs over 6 months to bring this extravaganza together with the help of many local companies. The main sponsors are Moving Earth Construction, Akme Securities & Arbok International with other sponsorship coming from Gabriel's Taverna, Kouklia, Bio Homes & My Mall.
The organisers would also like to thank local business's who have kindly donated prestigious raffle prizes to help these wonderful choirs raise more for their chosen charities, which will all be equally split from the proceeds.

Colloquially they are known as Voices of Cyprus.
With the tickets priced at only €10.00, this has to be the best night of entertainment offering great value for money.
The enigmatic and talented Simone Swift from Rock FM will be Master, (or is that Mistress) of Ceremonies on the evening. There are a few guest surprises along the way adding to the evenings entertainment.
No expenses are taken from any of the choirs involved, they all give their time and bear their own costs, allowing more funds to be raised.

Each choir have chosen very different songs to perform on the night and all bring their individual and unique qualities into their performances. The Grand Finale will be astonishing when all 5 choirs take the stage and sing together.

This will be the inaugural event and is proving so successful, that there is already a waiting list of choirs for the 2017 event including choirs from abroad and a very special and different 'choir'

Not sure if anyone from this forum came, but the room was packed, far better then we could have possibly hoped for when we started planning this event 10 months ago, we hoped to have raised a pretty penny for the local charities. Lots of brilliant feedback, with all the choirs performing wonderfully, music to suit all tastes.

Just been advised over €8200 raised at this event, for various local charities. very proud to have been involved in this event. looking forward to next year.
