A group of local ladies have joined forces to organise a day of varied entertainment to raise funds for several local cancer charities; The Friends Hospice, Cancer Patients Support Group and the Anti Cancer Trust. The event will be held on the 15th October 2011 at the Angelika Restaurant.
The day will start at 10.00am with a craft fare until 2.30pm. Then from 3.30pm until 5.30pm there will be an Afternoon Tea with a variety of entertainment provided, plus several of the craft tables will still be in place. Finally from 7.30pm there will be an evening of singing and dancing provided by the girls themselves under their heading BOSOM BUDDIES, along with several local professional singers and entertainers. There is also a supper buffet included in the ticket price. The BOSOM BUDDIES are lead by Melanie owner of the 4 Front entertainment company, who is also not only helping to stage the event but is also a BOSOM BUDDY. Other BOSOM BUDDIES known locally for their singing prowess are Jackie Matthews and Louise Vreony.
Other fundraising activities on-going on during the day are a Silent Auction, Raffle and several quizzes, they also ask that anyone coming goes down the backs of sofa’s through old jackets and bring all their small ‘bronze coloured’ coins.
Tables for the Craft Fare are priced at €20 depending on if the stallholders wish to stay and display for the afternoon tea. A donation to the raffle and/or silent action is also requested. Crafters are asked to contact either Jenny on 99798366 or Linda on 99562387
Tickets for the Afternoon Tea are priced at €7.50 including the entertainment.
Evening tickets are €17.50 including the supper buffet.
Tickets for either can be obtained from various venues including the restaurant itself, the Friends Hospice shops, not to mention any of the BOSOM BUDDIES themselves.
The Bosom Buddies are also on the look-out for sponsorship for the event as well as raffle prizes and items for the Silent Auction, if anyone can help in anyway please contact Ruth on 99389073.
