Saw it last time they were here. Not very inventive is it to do the same show again.
Whatever happened to progress?

Hi Alan,
Thank you very much for coming to see the show on the last tour.
Like yourself, we like to bring/see new things too, and indeed have a new play 'The Devil Wears Primark' ready to perform.
Since first bringing over S C & O in 2003 we have also toured with 'Check Your Coupon' and 'Best Of Scottish Stand-Up' in 2005 and 2006.
The decision to tour Sex Chips and Ouzo was made for 3 reasons:
There was a great public demand - both by those who have seen it before and those who have not but have heard about it or had it recommended.
It has been re-written - and in our opiniion - improved.
We wanted to introduce ourselves to a new audience that have settled here since those dates. SC&O was seen as the ideal performance for doing so.
To be honest, we enjoy performing it so much - and playing in those venues too - that it was also a bit of self-indulgence!

Just to add.... As the writer, my decision to bring back Sex, Chips and Ouzo was the demand. I have written many plays but Cyprus seems to have taken this one under its wing. I am asked to lecture and the children use it as part of their O-levels and O-level equivalent as an indigenous play. I've written many plays, have won The Edinburgh Festival Award, The Scotsman Fringe First, The BT Award for Comedy, A Herald Angel, A Special Jury Award at Cannes Film Festival and more recently with A Spanking In Paradise- 2 EIFF Trailer awards and a BAFTA nomination for the movie. I booked the amphitheatres under THE DEVIL WEARS PRIMARK but I was approached by director David Goodall to turn it into a movie. Mr. Goodall recently won Best Director at The New York Film Festival, Best Director at The L.A. Film Festival, Best Foreign Film at The L.A. Film Festival, Best UK Drama at Swansea Film Festival, Best Film at New York Film Festival.
His films CRUSH and CHANGED DAYS are currently nominated at Cannes and Irish Film Festival. I wanted to give Mr. Goodall a flavour of the live show and we have finished touring UK but some shows do go on and on. See Mousetrap etc.
If there is a public demand- there is a public demand-NOT lack of imagination.
I've reworked the play for my own reasons and am currently writing the screenplay. So filming for Sex, Chips and Ouzo begins in Cyprus 2012 and it's the last tour.
I hope that answers your question.
