Just to let everyone know. the whole day was a complete success and we appear to have raised over €3500 to be divided between the Friends Hospice, Cancer Patients Support Association and the Cyprus Anti Cancer Trust. In this tight economic climate, we are very, very pleased with this result.

It was very hard work, but we enjoyed every single minute and I must thank as many people and organisations who were involved. (I apologise if I have missed anyone)

Thank you to Justin Hill from de Vere Group as main sponsor of the event. His early commitment to us gave us the kick start that we needed.
Yiannis and Demetri from Angelika for the use of the Restaurant. the Stall holders and prize donators, Dee Jays Jive for sound equipment, transportation of stage and Jive demonstration on the night, (thanks to Dave for my first Jive lesson, I will be coming for more!!) Stuart Swallow for comparing the evening event, Matt and Ben and Danny Mountain for entertaining at the Afternoon tea. Occasionally Suited of Tala for the Fashion Show. Nicky and Jill of Cyprus Bridal Beauty for hair and make-up. Kefalos Beach Hotel for the loan of the stage. A VERY BIG THANK YOU to the Staff of 4 Front entertainment who not only gave up a very large amount of their time off over the past week and helped during most of the day on Saturday but also added a very high entertainment factor to the evening. Arabel King and Geoff Greavey for entertaining us all during the supper buffet. To the photographers who came along to take photos, Geoff Whyman and Jim Katchis another big thank you.

A very big and heartfelt Thank You to Mel Ballard for being our musical director over the past few months, we could not have done it without her. There must have been times she was pulling her hair out!!!
Also all my collegues at Bosom Buddies, who have put in so much effort and time to help make the event the success it was.
At the end of the evening, we received a very large donation from a member of the audience, (it reduced both Ali and I to tears), I am not sure if they wished to be named, but I will find out and add correct thanks to them when I can.

We hope to do other things in the future so please keep a look out for future events.

From what I saw of it, you had a wonderful variety of performers.

Geoff and I would be willing to perform for your concerts again, and also for any other charity events.

My number is 97757180 - if anyone wants to book us!!

What an amazing amount you raised. Well done!!

Thank you Arabel,

With your help, the money we have raised we can purchase all the items the charities had requested (which we are very proud of), and probably a bit more.

We had a really wonderful time and the original idea was just purely for a one off event, but such was the enjoyment, we are hoping to keep the Bosom Buddies initiative going and not only keep on fundraising, but also keep on singing as a group. We are performing such a wide range of music and with such a wonderful singing, voice coach and vocal conductor in Mel Ballard we can only improve. (We all have our fingers crossed she stays throughout the winter!! It is not often you get someone with her talent and musical qualifications in a small place like this)

As you know, Arabel, I am also heavily involved in the Paphos Zingers Rock/Show Choir which also is a major stress buster for me and offers a different outlook to my singing as it involves more of a theatre performance with the choreography as well. (I hesitate to use the term Glee choir as in the TV show of the same name, but this is the nearest I can describe it, or if anyone saw the TV programme Rock Choir it's more like that). I cannot believe that 18 months ago I had never sung in front of an audience before and now I am performing with my friends and colleagues all over the place. I would reccomend to everyone to give it a go. If you want more information on any of these two groups, please give me a call on 99389073.

We are already planning, as Bosom Buddies, our next event so please everyone, keep a look out early next year.

you are truly an amazing person.

Perhaps you would also like to recommend my singing group...ALLA BREVE.

We are performing at several gigs around christmas. The difference in my group is that we sing in harmony most of the time. We intend to remain a small group and hope to do gigs for smaller audiences than perhaps the others are aiming at.

It seems a shame that now there are five groups (that I know of) when we once had only the Orpheans. This sadly means that the 'dedicated' singers are divided among these groups and we probably all lose 'quality' because of this.

Yes, I noticed that Mel brought out the best in all of you.

Kind regards

Arabel

ps I have put you on my Friends list x

I think competition breeds excellence so lets all rejoice in what we all have to offer in our own individual groups.

Thats another way of looking at it which I hadnt considered.

Perhaps we could set up a choir competition/concert. They have an International Choir Concert in Malta this year in early november. Would be a good annual event to hold.
