From todays Lin TV web Page :- Bus company refutes criticisms The Paphos Transport Organisation, OSYPA, has countered criticism that its service standards have dropped since logistics changes in the summer. Passengers have filed complaints about a cut in services and inconvenience caused by creating a depot in the harbour, making it necessary to change buses several times for one journey. Eddie and Sue Booth who live between Paphos the UK claimed that the level of service had plummeted in the three months since their last visit. "We own an apartment in Paphos, near the Venus Beach Hotel on the Tombs of the Kings Road. We come over several times a year to enjoy some time in decent weather. However, the last visit, a few weeks ago, turned out to be quite a contest between us and the public bus company," Eddie Booth told http://www.lintv.eu. "They have now opened a central bus depot by Paphos harbour, where all the buses have been ordered to go. Every passenger has to get off the bus, and wait for another bus to their destination. There are no designated queuing areas as such, so that there is just a mad rush every time another bus arrives." The Booths complained in particular about the changes in the airport bus route which formerly ran along the coast road to Coral Bay and they used to use regularly when arriving in Paphos from the UK. "We caught the late-night bus from the airport and were forced to get off it, suitcases and all, at the new harbour depot. Then we had to join the mob of people who fight each other to get onto the next bus to their destination. They didn't give a damn for anyone with suitcases or a pram or for elderly people with walking and standing difficulties." But a spokesman for OSYPA said that the changes in services were carefully thought through and made in reaction to passenger demands and volume increase. "On July 4th we established a depot in Paphos harbour where all passengers could catch the airport bus from wherever they were. They know that the service starts there and centralising it makes it more convenient for everyone rather than just serving people along the coast road," a spokesman told http://www.lintv.eu. |

"People are fighting to get on the bus" , yet this bloke is complaining ?? 2 years ago , you could not get anyone to use the buses !! I think the buses have been a great success over the last year , at least it has given people the choice , rather than being forced to be ripped off by them thugs that call themselves taxis ! .. |

Couldn't agree more. It isn't unusual for people to change buses at a depot on the UK, so I don't really understand the issue. What this change means is that everyone can get the airport bus, not just those who live along TOTK Road. Looks like an improvement to me. |

Maybe just needs to be orginized a bit more , new projects always have teething trouble ? |
