Does anyone know if its available here? I know coconut milk is widely available but never noticed if cream is. Any help would be great, thanks! |

Tallulah, I would suggest that if the larger chain stores dont stock it you could try some of the suppliers to the oriental community here. There are loads of Vietnamese, Philipines and other people of asian origin, I am sure they must enjoy coconut creaming from time to time. There is a shop near the cancer charity shop that supplies oriental items. From Kennedy square head to the paps lights, turn right and then first left, its up there on the right. |

There is a Thai shop just off Ledra Street in Nicosia that sells coconut cream; there must be Philippine shops in Paphos that sells the same sort of stuff. Rita xx |

Paps (@ the harbour definately) and I think Carrefour both sell coconut cream. Blue Elephant Brand. In the Thai section. Got some in the cupboard. I can't get hold of the real coconut milk. Most of the so call "milks" in cans are in fact creamed coconut and water. Got some last summer in a 1 litre carton but can't remember where from. The best we have found this year is mixed Pinapple and coconut milk. We like to use it in cocktails. Particularly Pina Colada and Blue Hawaiian. |

Try "Pataks" Creamed coconut. It is in a small carton, and inside are 4 sachets of creamed coconut. Simply melt a sachet (unopened) in some warm water, and use in your recipe, or conversely, try the large blocks of 'Rajah"coconut cream, and just grate the amount you want from the large block into your recipe, both are available on the Asian food setction at Paps. There is also a can of "Blue Dragon" coconut cream, which is far superior to the other cans of coconut milk.. There used to be coconut "liquid" sold in the fruit juices section, but I have not seen that recently. Please share your recipe - I adore anything with coconut in it. |

If you need any of the more exotic foods, try the Sri Lankan shop in the arcade diagonally opposite Paphos police station (behind the street cafe), or the Bangladeshi shop roughly opposite Ben's bar on Tombs of the Kings Road. Both good places with nice people who will be pleased to see you and give advice. |
