Recently reopened, heard many good reports on the food there from friends.

Went on Friday night

Friday night special is Fish & Chips.

We started off with the Coconut prawns – Delicious
Then the special Cod & chips. --- Cod very tasty, the chips as good as you get, well cooked and brown.

We are certainly going back to try things out on the main menu.

They are going to start opening on an afternoon as a coffee shop for the "Friends Hospice" Run by volunteers.I'm not sure when this is going to happen, soon I hope.

"Hi everyone I can confirm the rumours that the akava has closed. We have had six burglaries in six months three of which occured last week. As the building had been deemed uninsurable by every insurance company it became impossible to cover the losses. Also as the landlord had not insured the building against fire we were unable to get public liability insurance, it is against the law to operate a restaurant in Cyprus without public and employees liability insurance. These problems on top of disagreements with the landlord took the shine off of what was otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Both myself and my staff are very sad to be giving up on the akava especially when it was just getting going.

We do intend to pursue other avenues and will email everyone on our mailing list with details. Anyone not on our mailing list who would like details can pm me here.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our diners both for giving us a shot and for making it really enjoyable.

I look forward to feeding you all again soon. "

Pauline

I feel really upset about this. Partly because the food and ambience were so lovely and partly because I so understand all the troubles that Pauline has had. What a waste.

I have to say , that having a good landlord is very important
when you take on a premises , its what can make you or not !!

Some of these landlords, need to stand back and take a good look .
