I like Kolios at Statos Agios Fotios. Red - Statos 99 Rose - Cornetto White - Persephone For a palatable cheap white, which I use for cooking as well, the Keo white wine in a tall square box is OK. |

The Keo boxed wine which Jean cooks with is as she says very palatable. I usually have a glass with my evening meal. Trev.. |

It depends which wine really!!! Our favourites are Tsangarides Winery in Lemona for Chardonnay. Eszousa Winery at Kannaviou for Rose and Agios Fotios Red. But having said that the 2.99 euro wines from Lidl make very good drinking!!!! Yvonne |

Kolios do a Meze but not as good as used to be. The Vouni Winery just passed Kolios do food at lunchtime, never had it so cannot comment. I know quite a lot of wineries but not many that do food. Someone else might come up with others. Yvonne |

Nearly everyone is responsing to the question "What is your favourite Paphos Wine?" Not Winery as Neil orignally posted. OK it's nice for the wine to be good when visiting, but what about any food served, or what actually can see and do at the winery? Also what are the owner or workers like? I'm not that big a wine drink, but could enjoying visiting some of the places. |

If you are taking a trip up to Troudos, call at Constantinou Winery in Pera Pedi village. Their Velvet, is a very nice dry red. They also produce two very good white wines, one dry & one medium. All priced very reasonable . Vasilikon winery at Kathikas also produces good wine. Buy a case of wine from them and you get one free bottle. |

last year we thought that we would try a winery and tried the Stenna Winery at Kathicas never giggled so much in ages with the stone cave wine cellar being the hight of the visit to the plastic and papiermache takes on wine through the centuries to the small plastic tumbler that was filled with wine after wine that they produce... served with a few nibbles and lots of chat about sales and buying we did buy a few bottles of their red wine to find that all the bottles where corked and the wine had 1/2 " of sediment on the bottom that when poured ended up in your glass needless to say we have never returned but we did enjoy our visit as it was so silly and so NOT what you expect from a visit to a winery 10 out of 10 for giggleability it would have made a great series in Hallo Hallo, Monty Pythons or the 2 Ronnies maggie |

Very little actual meat in the Meze, mostly mince in various forms. Also staff not as friendly as they used to be. However the best views in Paphos. Vouni however have improved since 2010 and their Meze lunch was excellent when we visited with guests in May. I think they do charge for the wine but the food is cheaper. |

Coincidentally we called at the Perradaki taverna at Kathikas which is just up from the Farm Yard on the left and enjoyed a very good meal. The owner, a young man called Bambos, then took us down to his cellar and proudly showed us his winery which is directly under the restaurant. It was very clean and lots of chrome etc and since we had not visited a winery before, although have boosted their profits since retiring here, was quite interesting. Bambos and his wife, Niki, seem a very nice couple with good business heads etc. The taverna is well appointed and appears popular. He sells his wine at 3 Euros a litre or the box thingy for about 15 Euros. Well worth a visit if you have not been there before and ask to look downstairs - the winery I mean !! |

My favourite is Kayla,os in armagetti, lovely small family owned, beautiful dry & medium whites very drinkabe and cheap too available in papantonous. Their roses are lovely too but t the best has to be their maratheftiko red which won a gold award. The old mother brought us out nuts and cheeses on various occasions. Also you get a good full glass of each wine and as many as you like including zivania and red zivania. He also uses the next wine your going to taste to rinse out your glass before tasting so not to mix flavours whereas no others I have been to have done so. I don't partiulary like kolios or Leo as they seem to mass produced and cheap which are usually tyheye not so unique wines ans flavours. Fikardos do a lovely rose. Vouni do some lovely wines and their views from there are spectacular. Sterna is a lovely small family owned one with stavros the owner who is lovely they have a very strong schnapps and a port my parents loved. You get shot glass measures but they do havae a couple of nice wines that I've bought never corked but are strong in % at 12 or 15% |
