We had dinner in Silks last night - what a lovely meal! The tapas were beautifully cooked, with lots of choice. My favourite was the sherry glazed chicken livers, in the most gorgeous sauce I've tasted for ages, on fried bread. My Companion was smitten by the tortilla. It's a real find, and to be able to have as much, or as little, to eat as you want is a bonus this weather. I fully intend to become a regular and recommend it for food, price and great service. Oh, and My Companion also said the wine was a very good quality and, for once in Paphos, properly chilled. He's very hot on that. (yeah, yeah, pun intended, ok?)

Went here last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very good and the wine was from a little known winery in Agios Fotios-Statos and was superb. Will definitely be going again.

My personal favourite - rose wine - Cornetto from the Kolios Winery, and for a decent red it has to be Statos 99 :greetings

The wine was not from Kolios as we know their wines well. This was from a winery called Makkas. You can't buy it from any outlet only direct from them. Incidentally, went to Kolios for lunch on saturday and was disappointed, definitely not as good as it used to be.

Sue didn't know Agios Fotios has another winery --interested to have a visit to Makkas (sounds like a Geordie nick name Makem) is it near Kolios. We like the run up to Kolios but now have food at the Spring of Life not keen on Kolios meze.Marj

Don't know anything about this Makkas Winery but Vouni Panagia winery is just past Kolios on the same side and they used to do a lovely Meze - very friendly and very generous with the wine tasting! They do the Alina wine.

Marj,

The food at Kolios was not good at the weekend. They had a coach party in at the same time so this may have had an impact on it. Shouldn't, I know, but think it was too much for them to cope with. Haven't actually been to the makem, sorry , Makkas winery but got the address off the bottle and it was in Agios Fotios-Statos. Going back to the UK next weekend until next March so probably won't have time to investigate further until next time.
Won't be going back to Kolios in a hurry that's for sure!

Sue.
