Having seen the advertisement for this in the PALS edition for July,we decided to give it a look after going to the hospital in Polis. We thought a meal and a relax on the beach and a swim would be ideal with the weather being as it is. What a disappointment ! On arrival it looked like a hippie beach bar on the left and then we noticed the restaurant on the other side of the road. We pulled up,went in and were greeted by a very nice Lady who took our order for 2 all day breakfasts (too hot to want to cook one at home). The seating was ok but chairs with no seat pads on a hot day on bare legs not ideal and tablecloths not ironed not smart to look at. Windows were dirty and outside furniture all odds and ends and unappealing. Breakfast arrived, fairly average, frozen sausage, dried up salty bacon, god knows what they had done to the mushrooms(probably deep fat fried)beans, tomato, white bread toast ,spread and jam/marmalade. For 4.99 euros we got what we paid for but have had better for less. Went onto the beach (advertised as free sunbeds, shower ) to find a dirty beach, fag ends etc all over,4 sun beds 2 of which were ripped and 3 brollies.Took the sun bed that was ripped as new people had arrived while we were eating and stuck their towels on 3 of them before going in to eat and laid down.Had a quick swim and looking for the shower found it broken and laying on the ground so just got into the car and came home for a shower. I feel so annoyed that you travel a distance to try these places and they just don't deliver the promises in the advert. It says it would be an ideal venue for weddings, well all I can say is that I were the bride it would not be my idea of a lovely venue. It is in the most beautiful position with stunning views and it is just another British run transport cafe with menu to match.A shame because I would love to see the new owners make a success of their venture but they don't do their research and try to appeal to the sport loving ,bingo playing, quiz night ex pats that I cannot imagine would live in that area. Why do they do this when they have a view to die for in a country that has the best fruit, veg, meat etc you can find ? I still wish them well but will not return or recommend to friends and visitors . I am still getting reflux 7 hours later. |

I'm afraid I would have moved on even before my bum touched a seat. Marj |
