Well its upon us again, our annual visit to the Lane, Since going down 0-2 on the last day of 2005, we have won our last four games against the Spurts, scoring three goals on each occasion (3-1 Apr 2006 at home, 3-1 Dec 2006 at home, 3-2 Jan 2007 away and 3-1 at home in October 2007).

So are the Spurts going to break this hoodoo streak against us on Sunday @ 3pm or will it continue for another season :?

I really don't know but I'll bet you a box of Mars bars you won't score three this time.

Pete

The fact KKK has started to play 3 up front does seem to have given you a bit of a boost, unfortunately just in time for our game. I do think you are now likely to get at least one goal, but then again everyone does when they play us. The question is will we score more than you.

As you know I will be there, but sadly may not be cheering on Spurs as I have toally lost my voice. I blame Roger (LF9) as we were out celebrating his retirment last night. Thats right he really is that old.

Just my luck, when I go to Sid James Park to watch Spurs I have to be quite around the Toon Hooligans. Now I will be in The best ground in the Country and not be able to shout my head off. Bugger.

We arrive Tuesday afternoon so will probably pop in on Wednesday or Thursday for my Mars Bar. I hope it's not the one I gave you last October.

Will catch up with things on Monday before we head across so we can see who has the upper hand.

Regards.

John

Hi John,

Look forward to seeing you again but I won't be in the shop next Tues or Wed as I'm closed for holidays & my boys are over, so only open from 9am-1pm Mon, Thurs, Fri & Sat :D

You don't seriously think a Mars Bar would last 5 mins with me do you, so it won't be the one you gave me  but as you will be the one owing, I hope its a fresh one too :D :D

Catch you soon mate, good luck on Sunday :D you'll need it

I would take a draw in this one - a few goals and an entertaining game hopefully, usually is when we play this lot, and likely to be more so now we have the Keegan factor! :D

Boogaloo is still drunk from the other night. As usual he left his wallet at home. By the way I took EARLY retirement and am nowhere near retirement age!

Boogaloo the TOON are going to give you a good stiffing old boy! KK forever

Having re-read this post, I find that Gary now owes me a 'BOX OF MARS BARS' due to the TOON putting 4 past the Spurts :celebrate :celeb2 :celebrate :celeb2 :celebrate :celeb2

If the score had been reversed & the Spurts had won 4-1, I think they would have been online by now rubbing it in big time  but because they lost again :!: :!: there's no sign of them

You'll just need to get use to it John (Booboogaloo), that's 5 wins in a row against you, home & away, beating you by 3 goals again, should have been a lot more too :D :D at one point in the match, the % was 83-17 in our favour

I must admit tho, for 1 second after your £16m man Bent scored, I though we might be in for a stuffing from you guys, but I kept the faith & it paid off big time :celebrate

So come on, be a man, get on here & take your beating or I might have to venture to the other forum & start a riot there instead

I get the impression Pete's happy.
Mate I don't owe you a mars bar, I said they wouldn't get three and they didn't.
Have you turned the corner ? or have Spurs started their holidays early.
Gary

Well, well, well - I didn't see that coming! :celebrate

Cracking performance from start to finish - Keegan style attacking from the off and Spurs just couldn't live with our front 3, could easily have scored a few more - good times ahead if that's any indication! :clapping

Discopants - you were right we did not score three goals we scored 4 and should have had 6 or 7 - OH the glory of King Kev!!!! We have a crap defence so let's attack - he is so right!

Boogaloo's gone missing - he was on the train back from Tottenham with the TOON Army and probably made some silly comment which got him lobbed off!!!

Pete and guys it doesn't get much better than this!!!!!

Now for Reading and the Mackems!!!

PS Discopants - well done on your result - looks like you are safe now!

Well thank you very much, I hope you're right.
We're at Fulham this week, I predict a draw.

It was a good result for Newcastle. Aided in no small part by Woodgate, who must have had some sympathy for you guys. Seems we have indeed started our summer early - the players should be wiser though, as there will be wholesale changes at the Lane this summer.

Paphosfan,

Are you a Spurts fan :? Well at least you're brave enough to come on & tell it as it is, unlike that Booboogaloo geeza who come's on spouting then vanishes when you lose against us again

Woodgate joined you to win trophies which you have done this season, so maybe he thinks you don't need to do anymore  just imagine if JJ had been playing as well, we'd have had double figure's this time

No matter what team they leave us for, the players can never play against us again, look at the Spam for instance, they have a few ex-Toon players who always fail against us :celebrate

Can I first of all apologise for dragging this thread back up to the top.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond to the result at the glorious White Hart Lane, I only had one day after the match before I headed off to sunny Cyprus and could not bring myself to post before I left.

As you know I went down to the game and have to say the Toon deserved their victory. KKK totally foxed Juande with is selection and we were unable to respond to it.

I thought the first half was even and if the ex toonie Woodgate had not forgotten which side he was on we could have gone in one up at half time. If that had happened who knows how the second half would have panned out. But we didn't and the rest as they say is history.

The Toon deserved their 3 points and I have no issues admitting that after such a crap performance from oursleves.

For those in the know Pete and I bet Mars bars on these games, so far he has taken two off me this season, now we only have the highest position in the league left to play for.

I popped in to see him while I was across to give him his reward and met the 2 lovely women in his life, as frequently happens when I meet some women they do tend to fall for me and can't stop kissing me, how is Noushka keeping Pete.

I can see the Toon beating the Mackems this weekend (sorry Gary), but that could well be their last points of the season, so hopefully I will get one of the mars bars back when I come across in June.

Nice to see you again Pete, pass on my regards to Jackie.

Cheers.

John

Hi John,

Glad you got back safely mate, good to hear from you & Noushka sends her love

Well mate, this higghest position bet is looking worse every game for you mate, we should be even with you now if Owen had used his head against Pompay but as it stands we're only 2 points behind & breathing heavy down your neck :celebrate

So you have Wigan away & we have the Makems at home, so it could be all even with 3 matches to go

Btw Jackie says hello & it was nice to meet you :D

Given your goal difference you are in effect 3 points behind us. As I say be interesting to see where your points will come from after this weekend.

Regards.

John

Oh I think we have a semi-decent run in mate, after looking at who we have, I'd say we should get a minimum of 8 points, maybe 10 if we play as we have in the last few games :D

Who've you got left to play :?

Wigan - Draw
Bolton - Draw
Reading - Draw
Pool - Loss

3 teams avoiding the drop, so tough matches
1 team fighting for 4th, even tougher

Pete

Your last post is in the wrong sesction it needs to be in the Jokes section.

We get 3 points off Wigan, Bolton, Reading and Liverpool and you get 8 to 10 points from West Ham, Chelsea, Everton and Sunderland.

Either your tongue is very firmly in your cheek at the moment or you have been out in the sun too much.

Bless the deluded and misled for they are usually Toon supporters.

Cheers

jOHN

I look at this way mate, the teams we're playing aren't really looking for anything but to end the season yeah:

Makems (h) - No brainer
Spams (a) - mid table, nothing to win/can't see us losing
Chelski (h) - Settled for 2nd by then/we always draw with them at the TOON
Everton (a) - Settled for 5th by then

On the other hand, you have:

Wigan - Fighting relegation
Bolton - Fighting relegation
Reading - Fighting relegation
Pool - You never beat them no matter what

I may be deluded but there is a method in my madness :manic & you guys just love it  :celebrate
