Its seems Modric decided at the last minute to resist the pull of Newcastle & Teams in the Champions League football & sign for the Spurts for £15.5m this morning

I understand The Toon were actually very close to signing him until the made one mistake during the actual negotiation process, the took him to Newcastle to see the facilities. After that he was never going to sign. Even the lure of a shiny new trophy in the tea room was not enough to make him lower his standards that much.

He has decided to join a club befitting the quality of football he plays and expects his team mates to provide.

Also he gets to play in Europe next season instead of empty promises of what might be if he stays long enough.

Never mind you may have lost out on him but there is always Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Messi, Kaka, Beckham and all the other greats who are still to turn you lot down this summer.

Maybe the kids will get a game sooner than you think.

Now you'll understand why Berbatov has always supported the TOON, because he knows who the better team is

If he was that big a Toon supporter why did he not get his folk to sound you lot out when he came to England and why has he never been linked with Newcastle in all the reports about him leaving Spurs this year.

I do think he will leave us before the start of next season but I guaratee he will not come OOP North to the Toon. Given the fact all the half decent players will be going elsewhere as well and given the fact KKK has reported been given so much money to spend he could probably buy a small african country it 's not like you will not be able to afford him.

Berba has been a good servant to the club in the short time he has been with us, I truely hope he stays but I doubt he will, when he does go he will not leave us for a worse team that's for certain.

We have 2 games left ths season and you need to score more points than us to finish higher. It will be interesting to see who signs who in the close season and who is better palced for next year.

However I do concede already the Toon will be better placed than us at the start of next season as you lot won't have to worry about European football spoiling your season will you.

That quite clearly rules out Newcastle.

They are now reporting that the Spurts are in talks with 'David Villa' as a replacement for Berb

So far this forum has been good natured banter, lets keep it that way. It's not big and it's not clever to keep mentioning Mr Bent in relation to the glorious Spurs. Everyone is allowed one mistake, it just seems we are using up all the mistakes for half of London at the moment.

And don't forget, your main striker for most of this season was Alan Smith, who hasn't scored for over 2 years.

Let's just clamly forget about Mr Bent and pretend it didn't happen.
