He won't sign for you lot so butt out, you'll only end up putting the price up.
I heard KK asked for him as part of a deal with Owen going the other way.

He's an exceptional talent and I 'll be surprised if Ferguson will sell him. We want to buy him as he's been with us twice on loan. He has a great future ahead of him and I would hope he would be Keane's first signing and then our Captain, so hands off !
Gary
ps as for Pete not knowing who he is, that's hardly surprising is it ?

Keane should make Evans his prime target. He's 19 and a great player already. If Sir Alex sells him then it must be to us.
His girlfriend is at Newcastle Uni mind.
Fingers crossed he will be our next captain.
Sir Alex might, just might loan him out again but I don't think he'll loan any players to Newcastle after the Rossi debacle.
It looks like Pique is off to Barca, and Silvestre off to Bordeaux so Man Utd might just keep Evans as cover as after all Ferdinand is 30 now.
I think we should offer £10m now.
Gary

I haven't actually seen him play, but by all accounts he is very highly rated and this story does seem to have legs...

I would still be surprised if he came to us mind, but there is a precedent for the toon nicking a young star who performed well on loan with the mackems - think Shay Given....(although admittedly the relative gap between the sides was a lot bigger back then)

Yes and back then we couldn't offer Given the wages you offered him but that's changed now.
Mind to pay Smith £62,000 a week and to get no goals in return and to pay Viduka £80,000 a week for 7 goals is ridiculous.

I don't either Smith or Viduka will be with us come next season, well if they are, it won't be on those sort of wages thats for sure, especially if Owen is expected to take a 40k cut

The only chance we might have of cutting Owen's wages is as he's nearing the end of his contract - no chance ofViduka leaving when he's on such massive wedge, and Smith is unlikely to get a better offer elsewhere either.

Hopefully the new regime will take a more practical long term view to the salary structure, and look to bring in younger players on the way up instead of picking up cast-offs from the "Big 4" and offering them stupid money.

Anyway, back on topic I see today Pique looks like he's back off to Barca so more chance on Man U keeping Evans i would have thought?
