Well when he took over from JM, no one knew anything about him apart from Abramovich who had installed him as Director of Football, then when he took control, the players revolted against him & the press tore him to bits, saying he hadn't won anything outside of Isreal & wasn't even qualified as a Premiership Manager, so that's what I meant by 'I don't think he was meant to do as well as he did' as even with all the crap he took from press & fans alike, he still had them in the title hunt until the last day & he took Chelski further in his first season in the CL than JM did in 3 seasons, so....

As for people expecting Chelski to win things & not the TOON, that statement is so full of bull , every team, including you lot are expected to win things, whether they do or not is another question & not many teams can afford to spend 100million every transfer window like Chelski can, so yes, they are expected to win more than other but ah guess what, they won exactly the same as the TOON, Mackems, Smoggies & Derby this season, didn't they,.. NOWT

Fair enough Pete, but I don't think it's bull at all. I don't think any Mackem fan expected us to win anything at all.

sorry pete are you really saying that every supporter of their team expects them to win the title? or the FA Cup?

as you know i support boro, whilst i hope to win a trophy, i have no expectations other than to improve on the previous season (which we do not always do) for you to say that every fan expects them to win things is rubbish sorry

I agree with you Smurf. Good honest effort is what we expect, anything else is a bonus.

year was survival. Nowt else.
When we won the Championship, we hoped we would but didn't expect to.

How have I moved the goalposts I admitted to using the wrong word in my previous post, that's all, except in Chelskis case, where their fans now expect to win something, thats why Grant has been sacked because he didn't win anything
