This post isn't to replace the 'Transfers' post its just a little heads up on who I think the Toon need to buy this Jan Transfer window & who we're more likely to get in than some of the big names other fans are asking for, so if you other fans want to do the same for your teams too, feel free ok

We need 2 CB, I would try for Richard Dunne (Citey) & Brede Hangeland (Fulham)

At RB it would have to be either Nedum Onuoha (Citey) or Luke Young (Villa)

At LB I'd try for Stephen Warnock (Blackburn) or Aaron Hughes (Fulham)

At CM I'd go for 1 or 2 of these: Bullard (Fulham), Elano (Citey), Pennant (Pool), Delap (Stoke), Jonathen Greening (WBA), Clint Dempsey (Fulham)

As for strikers, we need a couple, especially with Viduka injured again, Ameobi & Obi out, so I'd go for 2 of theses: Ricardo Fuller (Stoke), Matt Derbyshire (Blackburn), David Di Michele (Wet Spams) or David Nugent (Pompy)

In reality I doubt we'll get any of them & end up with some CCC players if we're lucky but as we have 7 first team players out injured, then Ashley really need to open the wallet & buy some instant replacements, so I'd be happy with any 4 of the above

Di Michele, apart from his display against your boys, has been very disappointing. I don't think he'd be a good addition - not even for your lot..

I'd be happy for us to keep most of our current players.

A creative midfielder and a prolific front man would do nicely though. Bullard and Defoe perhaps.. 2 of our ex players.

If Ashton and Dyer could ever get fit, they would make such a difference.

Willis mate, you're going to be a selling club mate this year, not a buying one, well not until your owner sells it but as Ashley couldn't sell the TOON for £250m I doubt anyone would pay £250m for the Wet Spams as was reported in the crap-loids not long back

So you recon that Di Michele is useless Oh well, I did list 3 others that I'd buy

defence we need a new left back (to make taylor work for his place)

midfield a hard working creative midfielder jimmy bullard? or fabian delph

a right sided midfielder pennant/lennon

attack a big striker who has a bit of strength to hold up the ball and works hard someone like mido except they are interested in playing someone like sola of ossasuna

we need rid of mido, shawky and arca

so what you are saying is that apart from keeper you need a whole new team?

No, what I'm saying is, we need a hell of a lot of new players, as most of ours are either injured or suspended

What's happened to the days when you were gonna sign Ronaldhino, Kaka and Deco ?

I never said you post wasn't relevant Gary, I merely pointed out that if you'd read my original post, you'd see I'd mentioned not buying players like that in it

As for all those players sending us down, which players are you on about, the one's you've mentioned or the one's I've listed as getting

If it's your list then yes they probably would, as it's happening at Citey with their big name stars not playing well enough & that buying more may just work against them

My list would help us fight the tide for now, as we don't have any replacements in any area to cover the matches we have coming up, so if JFK can get 4 or more players in, then we should last until the summer, hopefully

Players like Delap Greening Pennant Warnock (who has been iffy of late) and Aaron Hughes would not enhance our squad so probably would not enhance yours.
Signing David Nugent would be a step towards the Championship for sure.

I'm not saying that. Derbyshire looks a great prospect. Dunne is starting to get iffy, would Citeh sell him ?
Young has just joined Villa so can't see them selling him.
Bullard is a good player.

Aparently Young is being played in the LB position & isn't happy, so may look to get out on loan if played in the RB position & as we don't really have a RB due to Beye being out for 8 weeks, maybe a good shout

Anyway, as long as we get some players in over the next 4 weeks, I'll be a little happier

Well those players you've mentioned on the Transfer Rumour thread are all good players. We've been linked with Upson and Ben Haim but I doubt we have much dosh to spend. We were linked to Taiwo in the summer, looks very good.
FJK has given Wise his list, hasn't he and now Wise has just got to get em.
