I'm sad to say the best team on the day won - might have been different if JFK had got Barton and Gutierrez on the pitch sooner but that would have just papered over the cracks.

Wonder how many other new lows we'll get to experience before the season is out.

Okay, we were better than you. I told you we were and you saw it for yourselves yesterday.
We are a lot better than that as well. That was a mediocre performance yet we couild have had 5.
We'll put 5 away against someone soon.
I told you I thought Jones and Cisse would be good together and the signs yesterday are that they will be.
We had a great day out and I've lost my voice. You don't need voices on here though so I'll leave you with this thought. Yours is the worst team we have played this season.
Will you avoid relegation is what you should be contemplating.
Hope Not, Gary

Sorry Marj but if the management is at its lowest edd, then that translates to the coaches & the players alike, I mean look at the Spurts :o :o

It's not an excuse its fact, we have an Owner who wants to sell, we have an interim manager on a monthly rolling contract & we have god knows how many players who know that their names where on the transfer list in August because the club was more interested in selling them & making money than building the team

Once we have an owner who wants to build the club into something, then no one will be at their lowest ebb

Seems the FA are investigating several incidents at the match yesterday, apparently coins, bottles, cans were thrown at Barton as he tried to warm up, he was eventually told by a policeman in riot gear to go back to the dug out due to Mackem supporters spitting at him & using foul language

Then there was the pitch invasion at the end, according to the crap-loids, they have CCTV footage of Mackem fans throwing punches & shouting abuse at Shay Given after the Richards free kick

Just because they won a match, how pathetic :huff

Of course it's because we are the better team, read my first post of the day.
We are the better team just look up yesterday's result, it will tell you that Sunderland beat Newcastle as recently as 24 hours ago.

So apart from your win yesterday, when was the last time, home or away did you beat us :?

The fact that it would have been a draw except for Ameobi missing a sitter, your team, from what I saw, weren't any better than us over the 90 mins, oh apart from the diving that is

Pete, have you been drinking.
Yes Amoeba missed a chance as did Cisse and Jones and Cisse hit the post.
Look I like to exchange opinions with reasonably sane people, so let's just put an end to this, shall we ?

Firstly, Martin said:

Oh sorry Pete, thought you had his picture on your bedroom wall
You really do keep it going don't you ?
You really do have to have the last word, don't you ?
Even on a weekend when it was proved what I've been saying for long enough ( and what you lot have believed for long enough ) ie that Sunderland AFC are better than Newcastle United, you are still there spouting irrelevant drivel just to have the last word, so you have not lost the argument. Are you like that in real life ? Is he Martin ?

I think it's important to be magnanimous in victory and gracious in defeat.

The darkest hour is just before the dawn - let's just hope this is it.

Yes Martin I agree. I did not gloat at Smurf and Boogs when we beat Boro and Spurs and believe it or not once I had posted one reply was not gonna gloat over this victory, then Pete shoved his oar in.
Sorry for lowering myself to his standards.

I have decided to cease arguing with you cos you don't know when to shut up.
As for what happened at the end of the game Pete I can not let that pass by.
Yes the two idiots who ran on the pitch hugging each other and put the V's up at Given should not have. They did not touch him or go that near him.
At the final whistle, some home fans were a bit happy, after all, as you may know, we have not beat you at home for 28 years so a little celebrating was always going to happen. I was watching from the other end but what i saw was one fan walk in front of the away section, he was obviously goading the away fans. Cue about 150 away fans rush from the back of the stand to the front to fight the home fans who were celebrating and maybe even taunting their rivals.
I think I actually saw four lads fighting, that was it. Your lot would have made it worse but the Police stopped them.
My mates were sat in that section and tell me that the away fans ripped up seats and skimmed them into the home section where kids were. This got the home fans a bit angry.
I am not blaming your lot and neither am I blaming my lot.
Have you heard about the grandad who was on the metro platform wearing his red and white shirt as were his grand kids when the metro pulled in a moron got off walked up to him and decked him in front of the grand bairns. He then got back on the metro and got high fives off about 20 of his mates and that story has come from a mag who was on the metro.
So don't talk to me about standards.
Gracious in defeat Pete, you are certainly not. I don't intend to speak with you Pete about this match anymore but rest assured that it feels good to know that you are more than just a little drunk off right now.
Gary

Who's arguing Gary, certainly not me  I'm debating the rights & wrongs  if you don't like wat I'm saying, don't reply to them, you have that choice in the end :D

As for what you say, as I wasn't at the match, I can only go on the mis-imformation that we read in the crap-loids :o If stories, like what you've said here aren't published & everything that is written points to your fans making the trouble, how are we to blame for sticking it too you for that :?

As I said, its not the first time your fans have invaded the pitch in matches, its not down to just the fans, its down to the way the stewards/police allow them to do what they do & thats why the FA are investigating the alligations put forward

Oh well, if it's debating and not arguing, I'll continue.
What other pitch invasions are you talking about ?

According to the crap-loids, the Mackems have done it several time, even at the England match played there in 2003 against Turkey

I don't recall any pitch invasions at all. If there was one at the England game it will not have been Sunderland fans, it will have been either Boro, Stoke, Burnley, Hull or Leeds who came to the city in large numbers to batter the Turks.
Cast your mind back a bit Pete and you may be able to think of some at Sid James'.
I know I can.

Aye, looks like the red and white bubble has burst - team just been whipped, in-fighting in the dressing room, fans turning on Keano and now they're below the hated rivals despite a once-in-a-lifetime victory over them!

Get your commemorative "2-1" t-shirt and DVD from your club shop while you still can! (can't believe you're selling them mind Gary - that's well lame!) :D

I would have thought by now that you two would have learnt to keep your mouths shut.
I said in an earlier post I'm laying off the footy banter and I'm concentrating on my team, hence no posts on here for a week.
I will not be coming on here bleating every time we go above you in the league.
As for not being top dogs, you are right we are not and neither are you........Boro are but we did whup you just 10 days ago

Yeah Gary but this post is about the Mackems v Geordies, the smoggies aren't included in this one & just to remind you, even when you were above us, the Smoogies were above you, so you weren't even 'Top Dogs' then either

Pete you talk a load of twaddle. You are the king of codswallop.
We have been above Boro this season and were when we whupped you. When I was referring to my club as Top Dogs, I meant in the North East.
What's with all this put up or shut up malarky ?
I promise myself I am not gonna reply to the majority of your posts as they really are gibberish tosh.

Yes Martin, the T shirt is embarrassing but is linked to the two two one wins at Sid James a la Quinn and Philips.
Gary
On a serious note, I watched the mags last night and was impressed by the running and effort of Martins, Spiderman and Duff. That was a great result for you and was a good performance by your standards, the trick will be to keep those standards up.

Yes, we looked decent, second half especially.

Fully expecting it to represent another false dawn and predict a draw at best at Fulham on Sunday.

Next 4 games very important for your lot - they're all winnable and could go a long way to defining your season....

Yes, good point Martin. The next month is important to us. I know a lad who's best mates with one of our players. He usually won't talk about Keane but has said that things are in uproar at the mo at the club.
Keane has lost it so it seems. Certain players turned up on Friday with their bags packed for Chelsea and were told to go home. No Keane to tell them and no explanation !
Not what you need when you are supposed to be pulling together.

Think you should be looking for a minimum 7 points from your next 4 to keep away from the wrong end.

We need at least 4 points from our next 2 vs Fulham and Wigan IMO - Chelsea and smogs away due up after that - couple of bad results there and we could be right back in it.

From what the guys on SSN were saying, in the first half you should have been at least 3-0 up but couldn't put in the back of the net, then in the last 10mins, Pompy put 2 past you  You could be back in the bottom 3 this week :o :o

True and if we'd won we'd have been 8th top.
People turning on Keane. Diouf is a waste of space.
5 changes from last week ( again) :banghead

I have never ever said that. I said we should not have bought him.
Fact is, I don't think Keane knows what his best team is and he better find out bloody fast.
