I look at Simpson and Williamson and think hey these are not the kinda signings that are gonna set the Premier alight.
Will they be able to cope ?
Your Owner ain't doing you any favours is he ?
Fancy letting Beckford slip through your fingers.
Ambition ?
What Ambition ?
Gary

Have you just noticed? The bloke is a cretin of the highest order.

The likes of Simpson and Williamson are the best we can hope for just now (and even that deal is in doubt now apparently, as Pompey will ber due another payment to Watford if they sell him to us... :doh )

Rumours that Steven Taylor is out for the season too with knee ligament trouble - couple more injuries like that to our small squad and we'll drop like a stone.

Why's that, thought you would be keen for us to come back up so you can claim your easy 6 points next season??

Or is it that you're planning on coming down to join us....

15 unbeaten now, a 5-1 thrashing of close challengers Cardiff - looks like things might be back on track on Tyneside.

Meanwhile, can Agent Bruce continue his good work on the dark side....

And so you should have won, Chopra will have been passing to anyone in a black and white shirt so really it will have been 12 v 10 !

Well, I'm an honest chap and this will be music to the ears of my Geordie friends( even though Martin is not a Geordie)
We were rubbish again yesterday. We tried our best and couldn't beat Wigan. The same as we couldn't beat Pompey and we couldn't beat Stoke.
We ar in deep doo doo.
For me tha answer lies in midfield. Cana and Cattermole are too much alike and not able to thread a forward pass for Bent or anyone else for that matter. So Cana should be dropped. However, Bruce has made him his Captain. Does he have the bottle to drop him ?
I think not and so out troubles will continue.
Newcastle will get promoted but will we get relegated ?
I think not.
Gary

I still don't think you'll get relegated, although it will be a lot closer than you would have hoped after spending another 30 million in the summer...worth noting that after the same amount of games last season we had 2 more points than you've got now, and we all know what happened next!

You've got Pompey next and they're in complete disarray so should be a good 3 points there to pull away from the bottom 3.

Looks like your player of the season could be that beachball against Liverpool!

Agent Bruce...................hmmmmmmmm not very original that is it ?
Tbh I think he should be sacked. It is 16 Premier games since we won. That is a lot of games ! Can't win away, forgot how to win at home, means one thing........relegation.
For a lot of us Mackems that would be it. I'm being honest Martin. After what happened to your lot( which gave us the platform to cement ourselves as the region's top club) coupled to Ellis Short supplying funds and Quinn and Bruce telling us we were going to the next level, this is so hard to take.
Don't get me wrong, you won't hear me say we don't deserve to go down cos if we are in the bottom 3 at the end we will deserve it. Our football is bad enough to take us down. I do not know what has gone wrong.
Bruce has had a veiled dig at the fans and now talks about the expectation at the club getting to the players. That is only the expectation he put on himself by telling us how good we were gonna be this year.
He has just about admitted defeat really when 2 weeks ago he said he had tried everything he knew. That to me means" I don't know what to do next"
We hhave had the opportunity to get points on the board with home games against Wigan Stoke and now Fulham, we haven't done it. A loss next week at home to Bolton should see him on his way.
Then we'll have the problem of who to replace him with.
In the meantime enjoy yersel Martin and get stuck right into me, like I would/did with you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gary, Haway The Lads !!!

You've got enough winnable games left, I still reckon you'll be OK. Might come right down to the last game of the season again though....

I'm going to keep the gloating to a minimum up until as and when our promotion is secured - not going to risk tempting fate!

Interesting stat I read this morning - including the second half of last season with Wigan, Bruce has only won 10 of his last 47 games in the Premier league

By contrast, with his win percentage since being permanently appointed, Chris Hughton is currently Newcastle's most successful manager of all time!

Those facts don't surpise me.I am pleased Martin you are not like some of your club's supporters who are crowing on already about how good your team is and how well they are gonna fare next season. They seem oblivious to the fact that there is a difference between fizzy pop and champagne and seem to have very short memories. :greetings
I am already getting it in the neck in some quarters but really I don't see how the mags can laugh at the Mackems until they know that the Mackems are down, which, I suspect, is what you are waiting for.......
Gary

I actually think our current crop of players would do a better job of surviving than the shower who got us relegated - we actually seem to have a decent team spirit these days.

Survival would be about the extent of our ambitions though without major investment if and when we do get promoted - I reckon we're looking at minimum 20-30 million to get us competitive (midtable-ish). The top 6 are a million miles away from both of us. :(

I wish he would keep his stupid gob shut.

He's forever harping on about the money he's having to put in since we got relegated with conveniently no mention of the fact is was his idiotic fault it happened in the first place. :tickedoff

How was it Mike's fault that you got relegated ?
He wasn't pulling on the shirt.
He gave you all what you wanted ! You wanted weetabix heed and you got him.
I tell you what !
No sir, it was a Geordie who took you down, not a Cockney.
Same as it'll be a Cockney who takes you back up, not a Geordie.

I suspect that might change if you are relegated again next season !

Actually I don't hang about that kind of site as a rule. I do however, look into my own club's message boards, we do have them you know. Imagine my surprise to see a link to one of your forums.
You can't imagine the delight at what I then read.
Your club are a bunch of numpties, a laughing stock.
And because you continue to "support" them.......so are you !

That's pretty poor Martin and doesn't ring true.
Am I really jealous of your shower of s***e ?
Don't think so.......surprised or am I ? that you have not commented on this latest scandal from your club.
Is it the case that anything goes these days ?
I mean, what sort of an example does the owner set ?

I can't comment because I've no idea what's actually happened - there's various versions of events doing the rounds but the club are refusing to comment but have apparently confirmed Carroll is in the squad for tonight, so who knows?

Dear oh Dear. Seems Newcastle have no comment to make but Taylor does have a bust jaw and is out for the season, Carroll does have a hand injury but was expected to play tonight. Yes, expected to play tonight.
What sort of a message does this send out to thousands of kids who follow football.
Newcastle United, hang your head in shame

I see you have decided to fill two threads on the disgraceful events at your club. Kindly keep them to one thread please.
Anyone whose club signs Joey Barton can not comment on other club's signings............pllllease.
BTW a good point for us last night away to a club challenging for fourth place, wonder how you'll do there next season ?

You caught Villa at a good time - they're in terrible form at the moment, no way they'll finish top 4.

Yeah, the mighty toon............... I do hope you are joking, we'll see how mighty you are when you compete with the big boys next season.
You are in line for another relegation, yo yo club.

You just beat Donny for God's sake,
Stop winding me up you are beginning to sound like most of the half wits round here and I had you down as being a bit better than that.

Watching your team "competing" with one of the big boys yesterday highlighted exactly why I'm not particularly looking forward to returning to the Prem, if and when we make it. I've really enjoyed watching games again this season, the prospect of going back to being humiliated at places like Anfield is not a pleasing one.

Hope Brucey makes it back to the North East in time to watch his beloved Newcastle in action tonight. :D

Yes, I watched the second half. You were the better team.. Forest, the third best team in the league were poor.
I am not about to congratulate you as I don't recall you congratulating me when we stayed up last season  but you are the best team in your league, clearly.
And......... I am gonna be honest and say I am not one of those who think you will go straight back down. You have the nucleus of a team who can hold their own in the Premier lower echelons, I only hope we have too !
Gary

Staying up is about all we can realistically hope for next season - a few decent signings might get us into midtable, but it's quite depressing that's the most we can look forward to for the forseeable future.

I am a veteran of being relegated, you had your first taste, I suspect last season, avoiding relegation is what we both have to look forward to.............. unfortunately.

You must be into double figures by now are you??
