All those have no full place named after them, Hearts are Heart of Midlothian, being the paving slab supposedly in the center of the Midlothian counties. Hibs have no place named after them (in fact many teams used the term Hibernians - Dundee etc-until the turn of the century) Q of South, play in Dumfries, not sure of theyre named after the South or they are all Queens?? Queens Park is closest to a place as it is a largish area in Glasgows southside, once upon a time it would have been a seperate town. St Midden, are from Paisley, there is a St Mirren Street, but thats it. They recently built a new stadium away from the old Love street, the new stadium is one of the sterile atmosphereless places that seems to come out of a box these days, whereas the old Love street gave rise to the name St Midden... Which others and/or English ones do you know. |
