According to reports in the press, Owen is looking for a pay rise with his new contract :shock:

Could that be why he's quoted today as saying he's more interested in keeping Newcastle up than being picked for England? Gary

It wouldn't surprise me mate, as I don't think anyone else would want him & pay the sort of wages he's current'y on, so he's better sticking with us but I doubt he'll get paid anymore tho :roll:

Maybe he just really doesn't want a new contract !
I know from time to time he says he's happy at the toon but he doesn't look happy.
On the other hand perhaps he will now find his goalscoring touch now he may want an improved contract.
He's already on more than 4 times the wages of my clubs highest earner !

He's on twice as much as I'd pay him also :roll: :roll:

It stupid really as Tayor, who deserves a new, improved contract will probably get about £30k per week if he's luck & Owen who doesn't will probably get at least £120k per week to stay :x

Pete, you're a tabloid headline writers dream - believe everything you read!

Ignore the negeative press, stirrers, trouble-makers etc - a United front is needed for the rest of the season, even from the injury prone, over the hill money-grabbers! :D

The Daily Mail has issued an apology today stating that Owen has yet to enter into contract talks and has not asked for a wage increase !
