Well, it's not long now, so those of us with Premier League safety already assured can start to look ahead to possible signings this summer..... Big stories this last couple of days linking the toon with big-money moves for Luka Modric and Thierry Henry - now I'm not daft enough to think most of these rumours are true, but these are the kind of names we're going to see bandied about with KK's ambition and Mike Ashley's cash. Chances of us getting Henry probalby around 1% I reckon, but Modric is a possible if someone like Barca don't come sneaking in - the fact his agent has gone public with our bid so soon suggests we may be being cast in the role of "hike the price and wage packet up" before the Champs League teams come calling though! |

I'm not believing anything at all untill I see them out of the turf in the B&W shirt Would be nice but from my reckoning, we're getting in around £500m worth of players according to the tabloids |

every year newcastle get linked with a whole mass of world class players and usually they end up with titus bramble or albert luque , enjoy your summer mags |

Thats so untrue Smurf, we were linked with Owen & got him, we were linked with Martins & got him, we were link with Emre & got him, Linked with Viduka, Smith, Butt, Barton, Beye, Faye, Diatta, Enrique etc etc & we got all of those too Not ever player you get linked too means you're going to get them & that they will work out in your team, look at Chelski with Kezman & Shev, both top European footballers but could play for toffee in the Prem Who are you linked with this summer |

Not all world class no but who do you have in your teams that is Where are your trophies & titles too I've been noticing a trend here lately, we all seem to be chatting about the TOON & nothing is being said about the Smoggies or Makems, so why is that is it because you prefer to talk about us instead of your own teams or is it that you have nothing good to say about your own teams |

Well I can only speak for myself. Yes I've got nowt to say about my team and I'm still trying to get over last week. I'd rather read what I've got to say and what Smurf has to say about Newcastle than read what Pete says cos he talks codswallop. Gary |

But it must be good codswallop or you wouldn't read it & reply, would you Impo I think you're both closet TOON fans really |

Your last comment takes the biscuit. It is quite an insult in my opinion. You can call me anything at all but never a mag. Gary |

Smurf, An old mate of mine has just rang and wants to go to the game with us the morra. He is a Smoggie We're getting the 12 o clock train from HPool. He asked me if there'd be any trouble on the train cos he'd heard the Boro firm are going up. How the hell do I know I replied and added I'm bloody 50( even tho' I look a lot younger ) they're not gonna pick on me ! Yes he said but you won't know who they are they'll just be able to mingle. I told him they'll stand out a mile, they'll all have two heads ! Sorry, Can't wish you good luck n that tomorrow's too important for that. Have a miserable weekend. Fingers crossed. Gary I hope. |

smurf wrote: am not even getting to the pub to watch it (bloody barbecue arranged before i saw the dates thought it was a sunday game ) anyway hope you have a very bad weekend too It just goes to show how pathectic you Makems & Smoggies are, as when I couldn't get to watch the NE Derby, I was slaged off for not being a true support as I had to go to a pre-arranged 40-10th birthday but now Smurf can't watch the match between you pair, not a single word is said, apart from 'Thanks ' It must be your intense jealousy of the TOONs loyalty that you thought it ok to slag me off but as this game for you both is probably even bigger because who ever loses may well slip into the relegation battle again, personally with what you pair have said lately, I hoping Bolton, Reading & Brum win this weekend |

Just remember I'm the only one who actually goes and supports his team You others just play at it, you are pretendy supporters. 30 years ago today the mags were at home to Norwich and the crowd was just under 8,000. Pete, did you know Newcastle had a team before 92 and Keegan ? Off to the match in half an hour. Wish me Luck ! Gary |

As I've said before mate, I started supporting them in 92 but did know they were around before hand, didn't know much about them until I was hooked but at least I'm open & honest about my knowledge on this matter All that really matters mate, is I've supported them no matter what since, whether it be in the ups or downs, I've never lost my faith |

worst part of missing this game was that we organised the barbecue been a boro supporter since 1981 first game was boro 6 norwich 1 (should have stopped then) used to work at ayresome park in 1986/87 got paid a massive 3 pound a game to open the fire exit once a match to let the gazette seller through got to watch the match for free though best ever boro day was when we beat villa 2-1 in the ZDS semi finals to get our first ever wembley final, i remember queueing up overnight to get a ticket for the west ham league game as it was only people with stubs from that game who could be gauranteed a final ticket. a lot has changed at boro since then |
