Well after reading several tabloid articles this morning about KK & MA meeting yesterday, its seems we're well & truely screwed next season, as some are saying that KK will get just £20m warchest for signings & if he needs more, he'll need to sell, others are saying that MA has told KK that if Owen wants a new contract, it'll need to be cut by £2m a year

Now I know all this is tabloid trash & probably isn't true but if it is, lets get ready for another crap season with a very, very weak side & few if any new players coming in

I promise to try and be sensible with this post.

I can see the arguments on both sides in this case. Ashley doesn't want to throw money around like it was going out of fashion and end up like Leeds, but KKK needs the cash to be able to sign the world class players he wants. (forget the fact he hasn't got a hope in hell of attracting any world class players to the Toon, Sorry).

When Ashley arrived everyone was shouting about who would be joining the Toon, now you had the only English multi billionaire in the Premiership. Now he is sounding a word of caution it seems he may not be the saviour you were all hoping for.

In my opinion KKK should be looking for players still on the way up, not the ones at the height of their game. He needs players who are hungry and who don't just want to take the money and run. This could be where his skills as a manager are tested, can he develope players instead of just getting them to put on the Black and White strip and sending them out to play.

He has shown in the past he can do it, Ginola, Speed, Ferdinand etc, lets see if he still has it.

If Toon fans could only be realistic instead of expacting to be in the Champions League each season you may see thet progressing in small sustainable steps is better than taking a few giant leaps every ten or so years.

Aim to finish in the top 8 next season then build from their.

Why the hell would the likes of KAKA, MESSI, BECKHAM or RONALDINHO consider comming to the Toon when 10 games ago you were trying like hell to avoid slipping into the relegation dog fiight.

Regards.

John

Prefer some slow and steady progress for a change myself, bring in younger, hungry players and develop a team rather than splashing out stupid amounts on overpaid "superstars".

Confident in KK's ability to mould and motivate a team - reckon he could get top half easy with the current squad, a few shrewd acquisitions and top 6 is a possibility next year I reckon.

KK could take a leaf out of Moyes book.
Yes we have had our panic seasons under his management but Europe three seasons on the run isn't to be sniffed at.
Neither is 3-1 final game of the season. (Sorry. Couldn't help myself Pete.)

Geoff,

I hope you're not counting that season where you were in the CL for 1 game & the Uefa Cup for 1 game before exiting Europe completely :smilielol :smilielol

I'll let you have the 3-1 this season mate but make th emost of it as it'll be the last :D
