He has managed to get out of the Toon alive and was not forced to eat his own young, put cars on bricks nor nick gnomes from front gardens. The reporter also went on to say that he had managed to retain his sanity and dignity. Means the toon are headless once again and they seem to go through managers faster than Ulrika johnsson |

Oh Oh Oh Tany, yer so, so funny Just seen that the TOON have removed Big Sam, its distgusting, he's only been there 8 months, what is Ashley & Mort thinking, all he needed was some serious money & true backing from all the fans Lets hope they have someone descent to replace him soon, maybe its Mourinho with Shearer next in command Pete |

It's cos the reserves lost to us last night I tell you. Well for me it's bad news, I thought he was doing a grand job, no really, all Sunderland fans thought the same. A Sky reporter has just asked Mike Ashley if his favourit centre forward was ready for the step up, Ashley replied " Who ? Jimmy Greaves ?" Happy Days |

Not having a go at big Sam, but the leadership at the club is clearly lacking when they cannot appoint the right management team, nor retain it for long enoght to show any progression. The support also needs a reality check as the expectation is probably too high and continually look for short term solutions. It not unique to Newcastle but you would have thought that individuals involved in successful businesses would learn from their own and others mistakes. I think Sams main problem was his bosses not his team! |

Six manager's in 11 years, Will they get a Top Flight Man to take them to the goal they want to achieve when the Manager is not given enough time to build. There was no chance Newcastle would have gone down this year so why not give the guy longer. Bring back King Kev with Shearer understudy. Russ |

Redknapp is favourite to take charge now but what says he'll get anywhere... after all, he's only done it with smaller clubs but so did Big Sam, I don't think he had enough money or time to change the TOON but then again, I don't blame Ashley either, as Big Sam wasn't his choice of manager, it was Fat Freddys... I was hoping they'd bring in a top international manager or someone with a great back ground, maybe Slaven Bilic, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Guus Hiddink or even Luiz Felipe Scolari... but no, its got to be British, no idea why Pete |

Your signature actually speaks volumes about Newcastle. However they are in need of major internal surgery starting with the brain which is clearly suffering from a virus. It seems that supporters of many other sides can see the problem and after the amount of strife they almost seem to pity them and want the toon to turn it round. However I am sure the Makems will be delighted by the current situation and wonder what the fuss is about!! |

Oh we had the major surgery when we finally got rid of FFS & his board of directors.... thats was the start At that point, Mike Ashley should have replaced Big Sam, as it would have signaled the sign of a new time but he waited to see if BS cud cut the mustard but sadly enough, he coudn't, so know he's decided to change what was left behind by FFS & start again, tho I doubt bringing in another English namager is the right option, he might has well left BS in charge, not as if we're struggling against relegation, unlike the Makems & they've spent around £40m since moving into the bog league BS got to spend £25m of which he recovered £14m, so really only spent £11m & just replaced player that left, so not really strengethed the squad in anyway, we have serious injuries to deal with & then we have a striker who's mind was clearly on the African Nations more than scoring for the TOON so no wonder BS had trouble, its a shame he's gone but I hope they change their minds about replacing him with another British manager Pete |

Absolutely bewildering decision, unless of course someone absolutely top class is lined up as a replacement (i.e. Mourinho-standard) If we've sacked Allardyce just to bring in Hughes or Redknapp I will not be a happy camper! |

Well we all know that Mourinho isn't allowed to manage in the Premiership until next season, so it won't be him I hope & pray its not Redknapp, but who else in the Premiership, who's British can it be Pete |

I don't think Rednapp could handle the pressurre tbh I think he would spit his dummy out as soon as the fans started to boo which let's face it they regularly do. BOO HOO ! Seriously he isn't the man to bring them their first piece of silverware since Britain relinquished the empire. Keegan and Shearer might work. If they got who they deserved I'd say they'd end up with Dennis Wise. Happy Days, Regards Gary |
