Paphos People

Hi everyone, Ive just moved to Paphos last June and notice that theres not a lot of footy being played amongst us Expats in and around the Paphos region? Or am I wrong? Are there any teams or leagues out there like, for example, the Sunday leagues back in UK?

I am looking to start up (with your interest) an over 35 (Veterans) football team for Paphos. Plans are in their infancy so I would be keen to hear all your thoughts.

I am currently serving in the RAF and represent the RAF Cyprus football team out here and through playing for them I have established great contacts for games to be played out here on some great pitches. I am a UEFA licenced coach in outfield and goalkeeping and have managed an amateur team for five years before coming out here.

There is an Ex-pat Vets get together on a Tuesday night at 7pm down near the waterpark in Paphos.

Basically, from TOTK road, head past Begonia garden centre (on your left) and just keep going. Straight over all the lights and the roundabout, past the mini golf, road turns into a dirt track for 100m , place on your right has two enclosed astro pitches, well lit at night.

Mostly Ex pats and English Cypriots. Good laugh, all standards, average age 35+. Interested? Pete?

Thats very interesting to know, my shop isn't far from there, only problem I currently have is, I have the missus & puppy to take home in Tsada every night after work, so unable to attend just now Maybe later in year once we move from Tsada, we're hoping to move to the Geroskipou area, so Jackie doesn't have to rely on me to drive her everywhere

Closer to the shops & better access to everything without having to drive, then I might be up for a weekly game, sounds good
