It's been a walk in the park up to now, has everyone thrown the towel in ?
The footy season is approaching and I normally get loads of stick but this year it's a doddle, so come on insult me !

Well I don't like to disappoint you Gary, so here's some thoughts from Billy Furious for you to mull over:

Quote:
"Roy Keane could give sunderland a whole new dynamic - where they actually have some self respect and don't live their lives fussing about what they do in comparison to Newcastle ahead of anything else - but he won't. He won't because of the mentality of the snaggle-toothed, semi-evolved pigf***ers following his team. Turning up here dressed in off-white and inflammation-red, like mobile acne with a silly accent, one collective thought in their filthy skulls; that a point at Newcastle will make sunderland a better place with identity, transport links, culture and decent gigs. A place where the highlight of their non-football lives isn't Mickey Rooney driving around their grotty little bottle shop in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

- Billy Furious, 'The Mag' issue 227

Spot on, wouldn't you agree? :D

No I would not agree.
It's just another example, if a bit more obscene than usual, of the high and mighty attitude the deluded mags have of themselves, that's all.
The fact is that our club are quietly getting on with it and the more sensible mags know this is the case. I accept Billy Furious probably is one of the more sensible mags, well he must be, he can write, but he hasn't cottoned on yet, or has he ?
Gary

In contrast to the "plucky underdog" theme the mackems tend to go for you mean? :P

A lot of mackems I know have a pretty big chip on the shoulder, understandable I suppose. I bet when you're on holiday, people hear your NE accent and immediately assume you're a Geordie, then you have to explain the embarrasing truth....bet it drives you nuts! :D

No Martin it doesn't cos I sound nowt like a Geordie.
When I tell people I'm a Mackem, it fills me with pride actually.
Gary
As for Mackems having a chip on their shoulder give me a break. Most Geordies have a bag of spuds on each shoulder man.
