What is it with the Spurts, are they unable to scout players themselves, they wait until another team does all the work & then tries to outbid them at the last moments

They did to us with Modric, now they're trying it again with Fabricio Coloccini

It may be Spurs had been watching this lad for some time but just been better at keeping their mouths shut, on the other hand it may well be having seen Newcastle seem to be making progress with the negotiations we decided he would be a good player for us, either way until you have his name on the bottom of a contract he is fair game for everyone else.

For what it's worth I don't think we will buy him as we seem to be interested in the other end of the team rather than the defence. Maybe one of his folk dropped our name to the press in the hope of bumping up his price and his wages, you never know.

Bottom line is, at the moment, if a player had to choose between Newcastle or Spurs the majority of them would choose Spurs. Your main redeeming factor as a football club is KKK and his future is not certain so why go there when you can join a proper team.

I understand there is another player both our teams are following, an Argentinian striker called Oscar something or other currently playing in Portugal. Remember who told you first.

I also understand Spurs have agreed a fee for Arshivan and will be talking to him tomorrow. Bentley and Arshivan for £36 m

One final point about the Toon. Bentley is currently undergoing a medical at Tottenham and should sign tomorrow all being well. If he does I can see Spurs being willing to sell Lennon. Maybe you want to go after him and sell Milner?

Gary. It does look like you have missed out on Kaboul, but I wouldn't be too disappointed, he was not that good. I have heard Malbronque is currently at the Stadium of Light undergoing a medical. If you get him you have got the best one of the 4 you were after.

It does seem as though most clubs are now starting to spend some money, it should make the next couple of weeks interesting. Sadly The Toon seem to be signing more coaches than players these days, 2 this week and Gazza still to come.

The whole theam of this thread was to cast slurs against the might Spurs who you claim were about to pinch Collocini from under your noses. I believe he has now signed for you lot as was always the plan. I am asking for an apology for your claim that Spurs were lazy and about to sign someone you were after.

You may also want to read my first reply where I think I stated he was never going to join us and would end up with your lot. Could it have been his folk who were spreading these rumours in an attempt to get your lot to hurry up, or could it have been the other club in an attempt to hike up his price, A ploy I believe you fell for.

Either way SPURS have not signed him.

The way I see it mate, you'd did it with Modric, who I hear is knackered now & I bet they tried it with Colocini also, so why do I have to apologise for something the Spurts have already down & probably will try to do again, if not us, then another team who's spent weeks trying to get a player for your lot just to step in at the last moment & steal them without bothering to scout them

Btw, you asked in an earlier post, why was it that Modric went to the Spurts even tho the TOON offered him a better deal, I've no idea mate, maybe Ramos has something over the kid or his agent got a bigger back hander than we were given out who knows why a player will go to a team who've offered to pay his team less & pay him less wages, something smells iffy to me

I think FIFA need to make a rule that says if a player is being scouted by 1 team, then until that player openly says I'm not interested in playing for your team, then no other team should be allowed to pursue that player.

At least the fans would know which players their teams are after & which one's turned us down, maybe it could be that every team gives FIFA a list of 10 players they'd like to persue in the transfer window & until the above happens, no one else can chase those players

How is this any different to Ronaldo, Barry, Luque from your lot and many other players. The bottom line is on this is that the players have the ultimate pwer in their hands to force a move through. All they do is play crap for a few weeks and get their wishes. I am not saying I approve of this, in fact I think the players as a whole have too much power now and Contracts are all one sided in their favour.

One final point, how the hell can you complain about stories in the craploids as you call them and then believe what is published by the Grunaid. I think the sun is getting to you now mate. Make sure you wear a hat when you go out to cover all that exposed skin.

BTW, Any predictions for the Toon /ManUtd match now Rooney is likely to be fit in time. Do you think you will perform better than the 6-0 from last season (or 1-1 as you saw it).

As for my prediction against Manc USA, I think it will be a good game, may even get a draw without Ronaldo being there..

Might Spurs is about right - as in they might actually beat the toon one day - doubt it though!
