Wasn't about this time last year that Gary was going on because the Mackem reserves beat the TOON reserves  Well guess what, this season it's roles reversed: http://www.journallive.co.uk/newcastle-sports/football-news/2009/01/22/sunderland-reserves-1-newcastle-reserves-2-61634-22749939/Is this an omen for the upcoming game on Feb 1st

Oldest player out there was 19 - with our injuries our reserves are basically our first team now and the academy boys make up the reserve side. Seems we have a lot of promising youngsters - they've got us top of the reserve and U18 leagues at the moment - could come in useful for our promotion push next season..... |

Maybe we should be using them to stop us going down this season instead of the 1st players... couldn't do any worse thats for sure
