Barring alien abduction, I will be there this week. Last weeks absence was unavoidable - late work meeting to discuss redundancies! Such fun. Simon |

I'm always there in body, but my sole has left me, so I shall be nothing but an empty shell Count me in, as I'll be off to the after to watch us get hammered by Citeh, barring no injuries that is Come to think of it, where has Chas (Arsenil) vanished too after all, it was originally his idea to get this thing started but has only turned up for the first match |

Simon The correct reponse in such circumstances would have been: "I don't want to work in a place where you keep me from my 5-a-side - those guys are worth more to me than any job, I quit!" I'll be there as usual, and will this week be sure to put my car keys in a pocket with a zip! |

Hi Ian, It's €7 each normally depending on how many turn up, so maybe cheaper mate Do you know where the 5 a-side courts are in Geroskipou |

Thanks to all that came along and apologies to all that got whacked by me (Sgt Mediocre, Captain Fantastic, Paphosfan, in fact most of the opposing team )- it was of course out of character, honest ! The sides weren't as even as the previous week and i found the going quite hard to be fair, it was an enjoyable game of footie but i`m in some quite serious pain in my foot and knee after it, i`m pretty sure its punishment for playing more than dirty. Anyway, same time, same place next week ... 8pm @ Olympico ... will do a 'roll-call' nearer the time. |

Yeah, good game, really enjoyed it & yes maybe the sides weren't that even, as you had 7 on yours, well 6 plus Tanny, who was only able to wobble around..... he moved faster in the pub later when Dundee Utd nearly scored or when Celtic fouled one of his team I think we need to think about who plays on which side more, maybe select the teams from the list before we get to the pitch, as you say, it was a little one sided, especially in the second half, your team seemed to give up the ghost... btw, you do knacker yourself out more if you don't play nicely, as it takes more energy to make dirty tackles than normal tackles... and you get hurt in the process Anyway, no one was seriously injured, maybe a few bump & grazes but everyone should be fine for next week.. count me in |

Not a bad game, but I'm crippled this morning after that collision with my own keeper - my thigh has got a bruise coming out that I'm sure I can make out the outline of Dean's ribs on.... |

picking sides in advance is something that crossed my mind but then people don't show and have to re-jig so best to just try and do it on the night with who is there. We all have different levels of fitness, skills and awareness so getting an even balance is quite hard, and is a little harder with new blokes coming in who haven't seen play yet and thus not knowing what they will give !!! We started out with a bit of a free-for-all a few months back but now I`m thinking about actually having rules on (a) backpasses (b) shooting areas and (c) boundaries .... maybe i`ll get really into it and dig out the FIFA rules |

I think we should leave the boundries one for a while as we're no where near good enough to play that rule yet The one we had last night for no hard shots inside the semi-circle seemed to work well I thought Everyone accepted that & I don't remember anyone doing it, as for back passes, we could add that one in if need be would make it a little more interesting I think |

I'm feeling pretty sore this morning. Got lots of aches and pains just about everywhere. However I don't have any Martin shaped bruises to show off - very dissapointing, I thought I'd earned adecent bruise to show off. Apart from being bulldozed a few times it was a good game again. Not too worried about changing the rules we play apart from the backpass rule. I reckon it would make for more amusing incidents if the goalie couldn't handle from back passes. |

Enjoyed last night, was good to get back after two weeks off. Bit gutted with the 'don't kick the ball too hard rule'. Hard for me to change my 'lump it and hope' approach I thought it was a good first half - evenly balanced at least. Not quite sure what happened in the 2nd half - although maybe we were all distracted by the hero doing doughnuts in the car park! Anyway, look forward to next week. Simon |

Thanks for the match fella's, pretty even first half, don't know what happened to my team in the second, maybe Pete nobbled our half time refreshments! anyway no excuses. Left ankle a bit sore this morning, but should be fine for next week. Introduction of the back pass rule could make things interesting, I'm in favour On the picking of even teams maybe we should choose two permenant team captains and possibly vice captains (in case either captain is absent through injuries such as grazed knees, man shaped bruises etc) from the regulars and then the captains get to pick players from the rest that turn up, like when you were a kid. Might get a better balance, anyway just a thought |
