I play for a 5 a side team and we're looking for matches against other sides. I know you guys have team so wondering if you'd be interested in a match. We normally play at the floodlit pitches down in Yeriskipou on an evening.

Wooooooooahhhhhhhh. We should have found out when and where they play first so that we could do full scale covert ops. We don't wanna be on the end of double figure spanking! If they have someone who plays in goal all the time, then this indicates a high level of professionalism/dedication and the game should be aborted. If there are no beer bellies in their ranks then this too would warrant instant 'Thanks but no thanks'.

All in the over 40 age bracket, our current goalie is "injured", so we take it in turns.

Monday night would be good for us.

Hey thats nothing, our average age is 73, our goalie is strapped to a comode, our cheerleaders dare not do a conga unless its to the bathroom and you want a game.

I feel a niggling injury coming on again.........

What Geoff meant to say was "our star player is currently nursing a minor ankle injury, but once he's fit again we'll be confident in beating anybody"

You'll need to give them longer than that to get organised Edd - took us about 6 months to get our first game after it was first suggested!

Edd

We will check numbers this week and see if we have enough available for a game next Monday if this suits?

Just waiting for our top defensive duo to return.

No problem at all, I know all about the "fun" of getting teams organised.

Hopefully next Monday then.

Edd

If you let us know what pitch, what time and how much it will cost we will then be able to give you a definite answer.

There seemed to be enough interest from last night for us to get a team out.

We play at the floodlit pitches at Yeriskipou, normally kick off at 8pm. Cost is Euro 70 for the hour which with a full compliment of 10 players is 7 eruos each.

I'm not sure if we're meant to be playing tonight or not.

Shall we play this coming Monday (13th) then? I'm sure we have enough players that were interested.

Edd- Can you book it if your lot can make it, and then we'll confirm on Thursday if we have enough players

And which pitches...Olympico or Forza? I'm guessing Olympico from the price.

Monday the 13th will be fine with my lot. I will book a pitch for 8pm.

It is Olypicos in Yeriskipou.

Look forward to the game.

Great, Who are you?
What do you represent?
What are you called?

Post subject:  Re: 5 a side football

Most of us come from Peyia. We don't have a name as such.

Our background is quite simple, we have played at Yeriskipou on a Monday night for the last 3 years, we used to have no trouble getting 10 people to play each week. However recently numbers have dwindled and we could rarely get a full 10 people available. We do have a core of 6/7 who still want to play, hence looking to get games against other teams.

Gotannatog,
As the challenge was an inwards one, I take it they are paying for the pitch?

Or is it loser pays all
