I would, but I don't need to fantasize about my team being in the premier league!

It always interests me, but I just can't be arsed to put the effort in. And you know that it's only gonna lead to massaging CF's already over-inflated ego!

OK, I'm in. Bit of a mission for me as I don't know many players outside the Blue Circle Conference (I genuinely haven't heard of most of them), but I've picked my team and joined the league. Now I can prove how little I know about the Premiership :)

You see, now that attitude is why you're already beaten before it even starts! :P

So far so good, once some of the usual suspects turn up there should be a decent amount of us.

I'm in. I've only gone with a slightly camp looking strip. I was so close to an all pink number.

First time I've done this so should be interesting.

only a few days to go before the first match mate ... i know you are probably researching like crazy to pick the killer team and blow us all out of the water ..... good luck

Post subject:  Re: Free Fantasy footy league

Don't forget you can pick a team and enter into the league and make as many changes as you like before the season kicks off.

There should be a prize I guess. So I will share half a pint of Keo (none of that nasty leon gunk) with the winner. Straws, ofcourse. Now there's an incentive!

Hi all,
Sorry you lot, I will not be joining in this year. Two reasons, firstly, why drop the Sky sports verion of the online game, It is far superior to the game selected to use this season by yourselves. Secondly, after the margin of victory last season, i feel it only fair to give somebody else a sporting chance.
Good luck to you all, and your respective teams (not the Spuds though) this season.

Paul. UP THE 'AMMERS !!!!

Thanks

If you go to your team page to tells you how many points each player got you - there's points for playing, scoring, assisting, being man of the match etc, points lost for bookings and sendings off.

It sort of went a bit wrong for me this half set of mid-week games. I only had 2 players actually playing.

May I should of used a free transfer thingy.

Don't forget that the free half a pint of Keo was a genuine offer to the winner! Now there's an incentive!

All 3 of my strikers socred this week, which was a bonus, but having watched a bit of the Liverpool-Villa match last night I'm sorely tempted to drop Torres purely for being a diving, whining cheat!

Although in this league, if I have no diving, whining or cheating among my selection criteria it might be quite tricky finding a replacement....

Post subject:  Re: Free Fantasy footy league

Torres end up with nice black eye from last nights game - does that get you any points?

I got lucky last night/over weekend. One of my defenders didn't play so it auto-sub on Davies (Villa man) and he got 10 pts (star team player) :celeb2

Well I wasn't very happy with the start made by my lads, and there's been some harsh words in the dressing room and a couple with suspect attitudes transferred out and it looks to have paid dividends with a much better week this time!

Everyone I transfer out or in seems to score in the weeks which they aren't in my team!

It's sods law in action - I transferred Arshavin out last week after reading an interview where Wenger was criticising him for being overweight and unfit, only to find him starting the next game and scoring a cracking goal! :huff

Starts up again today - make sure you check your teams in time...

Simon, you'll probably want to get rid of Modric now he's broke his leg - no room for sentiment in this game!

Post subject:  Re: Free Fantasy footy league

Modric has gone and Lennon is in

I am still not happy with my front line though............if I change it, the one I take out will score!

Hopefully, I'll jump up a bit as I've still got 3 players to play tonight.

I should only really look after ALL the games have been played as sometimes it was be quite deceptive how many more points people may or may not have coming from the remaining games.

Notice you've got Gerrard and Torres carrying the rest of your team - pretty much like the real Liverpool really! :)

I noticed Arsenal had a couple of easy home games coming up, so thought it would be a good time to bring in one of their attacking players - opted for van Persie, which turned out OK, but really should have chosen Fabregas, ridiculous performance from him this week!

I noticed exactly the same.......................but put Fabregas and Van persie in. Can't have you pulling out too much of a lead.

I was thinking along those lines too. I was going to ship him out to free up the money for gerrard or torres. Thankfully Fat Frank came good.
