Hi all

For weeks I had no problem accessing the forum using my Mac. For some strange reason though for the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to view the forum, keep getting the message the server may be busy or have dropped the connection.

Anyone else using a mac to get on here?

By the way I'm using my Windows notebook to post this just in case your wondering

Lisa

Have you tried the site on your Windows notebook at the same time as the Mac fails ? There have been some occasional connectivity issues maybe its just bad timing ?

Presumably not otherwise you wouldn't be posting ... so which browser do you have installed on the Mac ?

Can you access the rest of Paphos People site and only the forum is an issue ?

Hi Big Dutch

It's only accessing the forum that I have a problem with.

I'm using Safari.

The message I get is Safari cant open the page "http://paphospeople.com/paphospeopleforum/posting.php? mode=reply=1396 because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later.

Sometimes if I refresh the page I can than access the next page but only that once.

Hi Lisa,

I cannot replicate your setup due to lack of a Mac however have installed Safari on my own Windows PC here and found it to perform excellently ... i`m using it right now to type this post. So if you read it - then Safari and PaphosPeople forum appear to be compatible, at least from a Windows POV.

Which version of Safari are you using ?

Lisa - i didn't help you - you helped me ! I`ve now installed Safari so have three browsers IE7, Firefox2 and Safari3 ...

Safari3

Firefox2

Not sure if i have a favourite but they all make subtle changes to web pages compared to each other, and some feeler faster than others ............

For those wanting to have a look at other browers but don't want to degrade/lose your current one, i have experienced no "crossover" problems by having all three installed on the same machine so don't expect you to either - no warranty though ;)
