Over recent days any web page I view is approx twice the size it normally is.
I have not changed any settings.

What can I do to return the size of web pages back to normal?

On my laptop I hold down the control button (bottom left) and use the scroll wheel on my mouse. One way is larger and the other way is smaller.

Quite a late reply, apologies didn't see this earlier.

Trev's right, you can resize manually with Ctrl+mouse wheel.

Alternatively, to take back the 'default' display it's ctrl+0 (the number zero)

Just a thought.

If you've not got a scroll button on your mouse, also ctrl and the + or - buttons work as well.
