Post subject:  Pop up Ads
Have recently had my Vista upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and I have no idea why but I am now continually getting pop up ads which is very annoying. I am using Chrome as on my notebook (no trouble there). I have tried most things like removing progs, even chrome and re-installing them, to no avail. Help please.

Hi John
Go to control panel, then click on Network and Internet.
Go to Internet Options
Third tab along is Privicy click
Towards the bottom there is a tick box for Turn on pop-up blocker, put a tick in the box, apply, ok.
Hopefully that will stop the pop-ups

Thanks Jen. Tried that just now but continue to get popups. Back to the shop and the guy who upgraded my laptop.

Hi John
No problem, some sites will not allow you to stop pop-ups ,such as My I-Player, bit torrent, pirate bay and most of the "free" tv sites.
Unfortunately you have to tollerate the pop-ups on the free tv sites as that is how they make their money.
