Hello all, Im Dave, have been holidaying in Cyprus for 15 years and for the past year have been visiting our family villa since it was completed. So first of all, hello!

I have seen many changes in Cyprus, both Limassol and Paphos and I am intrigued to see how Paphos in particular is developing as it seems to be going increasingly upmarket....be this to the dismay of some and the happiness of others.....

However, with the sea front being re-generated and hopefully some of the dross that lined it removed, I am wondering whether elsewhere the area is being re-done. In particular, does Cyprus have any beach clubs, see http://www.purobeach.com and http://www.nikkibeach.com. I know that a couple exist in the north of the island but would love if something such as this were available in the Paphos region, say Coral Bay or so.....

Dave

Hi Dave
welcome to the forum
I dont think I have seen a beach club in cyprus in all the years
I have lived here.
Plenty of beach bars , but If I am right , I think that there is no such thing as a private beach in the south , though a few hotels like to think so

Welcome again :D

Welcome Dave,

Glad to have you on board, great first post mate, its a question I'd love to answer but the only clubs I know of are the scuba diving clubs, they do have as you're probably aware some boating down at the harbour, yet to see if this stays or goes but as its the locals that run them, I think they will stay :D

I know that when I was at Akrotiri, we use to have loads of different clubs, Kayak, Water Ski-ing, Sailing, Sube Diving, Jet Ski's etc etc but I've not seen anything apart from what I wrote above, sorry

Maybe its not filtered through to Cyprus yet, just from what Ive seen of the Cypriots when we were furnishing our house, they seem to be getting increasingly fashionable and conscious of how they are seen. I remember Costa Coffee on Makarios Avenue in Limassol, its like a prestige car showroom outside! Having said that I like the best of Cyprus such as the traditional tavernas and quaint villages but I also like the modern aspects coming through.

Out on 31st March so looking forward to it. 9days of sun and relaxing. Anyone have any recommendations for where I can take my gf by the way? Ideally near Pissouri/Kouklia..... I don't mind driving into Paphos but being out past Kouklia, a return taxi journey doubles the cost of an evening out!

You could go either way ,, mandria has a nice taverna
or Konia has a nice one aswell .
Both are not far to drive ..
