just been on another forum for Cyprus. I have to say they are very rude people on there. Just hope this site will not accept these sort off people. I know we have a banter and a great laugh, and it all done in good taste. But i was shocked at some off the things that was said on there, how can they get away with it.Why is it allowed to promote sex and have bad attitude to other members?.

Hi

Yes, I know the one. Constant battles, rows and despicable behaviour. Don't go there.

Mark, there are many forums out there to suit all personalities and tastes. I have seen some of them and choose not to bother reading them or posting on them.

There will be some who don't like the friendliness of PP. They see friendliness as being happy clappy. I find that an interesting statement, as I love analysing the psychology behind it.

It is a bit of an eye opener when you look at what is on the internet. I just know what I want from a forum, and what I don't want. If anyone is disruptive or inclined to become personal to members on PP they can find another site where the members are comfortable with that sort of thing. Posting an honest opinion, taking into account the impact of that posting, is one thing. Causing deliberate distress to another member is quite another.

Rest assured. There won't be any vitriol tolerated on this board.

Hi Mark

It goes on in Cyprus, like everywhere else, but it is the political bi -polarisation which makes the situation far, far worse.

Is there any chance that the new President, Christofias, I think, will help move a solution? But even then, it will continue for some years.

It would be good if only nice people came to live in Cyprus. Unfortunately the ex-pat community in Cyprus has it's fair share of the bitter, twisted, unhinged and downright nasty members of the population too. Immigration don't have a process to wheedle them out.

I am slightly unhinged at times, but I am none of the others on the list.

Perhaps I was thinking of another forum then? The one I was thinking of is where mostly locals and those Cypriots abroad fight each other?

John, there are several forums, some allow more openly provocative speech than others.

I am not alluding to any one particular forum. Over the years I have seen several that I wouldn't entertain because they don't fit what I want from a Cyprus Forum. They obviously suit some people, but they don't suit me.
