Morning All

Was feeling at a loose end this morning and decided I may well nip back to UK for a few days - I dont really have homesickness as such as this is my home - but I felt the need to go anyway.

Then I found a cure - flight prices!!!
566 euros? I want a seat on the plane, not to fly it!

All this because I wanted to pick up a few things. My mum is my personal shopper and in the past week(thanks to cheaper shops and BID tv) Ive amassed:
A 10 pc towel bale - thick ones not those horrid wafer thin ones that feel like sandpaper. Also another issue - bath sheets, not all of us are svelte, I really dont want my backside showing out the bottom of a towel thanks.

New underwear - downside of personal shopper is I have about 20 bras in the same style/colour as I leave the box at my mums so that she can take it with her and pick me up some more.(She's an older lady, I dont want to confuse her)

A huge George Foreman Grill - see, I ask for these things and never think how they're actually going to get here. I've also got a sneaking suspicion that this contraption could be as useful as the £300 does everything Kenwood thingy that I harassed my sister for and is in one of the cupboards untouched.

This is all in addition to other stuff she's bought for me but when I ask what, she just says oh bits and bobs so really it could be anything.

So, to end my ramble there are two morals to this story
1 - if you get homesick, look at the flight prices
2 - Stop asking your mother to buy things for you!

I only wanted to go and get my goodies John, I dont miss anyone or anything... if you dont include certain shops that is and Ive no desire for those shops to open here.

I just need to stop asking my mum for stuff! :D
I hate shopping so admit its not just because she will find anything I ask for, its because if I was there, I wouldnt go looking for it.

Carollynne, do they let you know how you can get back once you have got over there? I take it these are all one way flights?

I should hate to be stranded in the UK.

I hope this gent is travelling with a lady companion, as they X-RAY bags going into the hold it might bring a smile with the contents being female.

Hope nothing bursts open with all this stuff you are buying

Thanks Carollynne. It would be my worst nightmare to go to the UK and then not be able to get a flight back home.

Verity that would be the absolute end - even worse than my worst nightmare (hope that makes sense as I have had a couple of RACs) It's the sun you know.

Yes, my worst nightmare too would be stranded in UK. :D I made sure I booked a return trip for Thursday, €294 with BA LCA-LHR. Quite reasonable I thought, although I booked mid January, the same trip has gone up by about €60 now.
