Dave your tax will be due Jan 1 - all tax runs from either 1st to last of year, or when you bought to last of year, or that is what I was led to believe. I bought mine in July last year, and had to renew it in January this year. If you go on he JCC website you can renew it.

Your car tax runs out at the end of the month shown on the disc - which will be December 2007? You have until the last week in February to get it renewed, so if you haven't done so, you are now likely to be prosecuted if you continue to use the car.

Today is the last day to get your car taxed

If you get pulled over by the police after today & have no car tax, you will be fined from what I have read

So no excuses people, you've had since the 15th Jan to get it done online: http://rtd.mcw.gov.cy/WebPhase1/gui/Com ... sp?lang=gr

Yesterday and today on the Polis Road
at D & N vets, the police have been pulling
lots of cars in and checking for Road Tax.

I got pulled in both days, and both times
I was OK.........I had tax.

Dave, if you are in the UK and the car is off the road do you need to tax it straight away? I think you may still have to.

In the UK you could declare SORN. I don't know whether anything like that exists in Cyprus.

Today is the first day the police will be clamping down & fining motorists for not having TAX on their vehicles  so expect a lot of unhappy Cypriots, driving even more eratic than they normally do

The police have been at the junction of Coral Bay and Peyia nearly every day now checking cars.

They also check for mot's so make sure you are 'legal'

I've heard this a few times now Molly but I've never seen them there when we've been up there lately

Not that I'd bother, as I have both of my disc's visable on my windscreen :D :D

Same here Pete - I think everyone should be 'legal' including driving safely.

A little tip - if you renewed your tax on line and couldn't save it, photocopy your original so you have spares when your tax disc fades in the sun.
