We would be very interested to hear about other peoples experiences of driving to Cyprus as we like the idea of driving over at leisure and stopping off at places enroute. it would be a sort of long holiday but without the having to go back to UK bit at the end. It may also be that 'holidays' will be less once we are living the dream.
If we timed it well we might arrive around the same time as our container. Although this won't be until 2011 still I can dream and that is after all part of the fun isn't it.

I would have loved to have driven here if we had the time and the cash and didn't have the animals to think about.

You have some time yet before needing to plan this, David. As the membership grows there may be someone who has done this. Or you could try the Limassol site as they have been established some time and may have members who have some experience of driving across.

Hi, thanks for the tips.
The plan is to take a couple of weeks driving there and make it a holiday, this will be in november if we do it.
Would also want to bring my beloved, Lois, dalmation cross labrador.

I wouldn't even know where to begin about checking that the dog would be okay to travel as I don't know all the countries you would pass through. If they are all EU countries it should be okay, shouldn't it?

We looked into driving down to Cyprus and hubby had all sorts of routes planned and it was exciting and terrifying to think of all the countries we would have to pass through. The problem we had was we were planning to leave UK in early November and the ferries had all closed down for the winter. We sold the car and flew
