Dear Halifax Customer,

Halifax PLC. has been receiving complaints from our customers for unauthorized
use of the Halifax Online accounts.

Due to this, you are requested to follow the provided steps and confirm your Online
Banking details for the safety of your Accounts.

Secure Update

However, Failure to do so may result in temporary account suspension. Please understand
that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account.

Yeah - don't even have accounts with many of the banks that e-mail me. Bit of a give away. And if its my bank name they tend to make mistakes that genuine customers will spot.

If you want to you can forward these scam emails to the banks concerned and also to the Serious Fraud Squad at Scotland Yard, just Google for them.

These emails are very professionally made and mirror the original almost perfectly, so be careful, very very few of the high street banks ever email customers and will certainly never invite you to log in or divulge any info.

Cleared Cheques don't really mean cleared, I nearly fell for a scam regarding an instrument I'd advertised; I checked with my bank and was astounded to be told that a cheque can be recalled long after the clearance date and the recalled money wil the be taken out of you account.
So be warned

Everytime I've advertised my vintage Bass guitar in the Vinatge Guitar Mag the same Nigerian scammers come up with the most ludicrous offeres.
