Measuring 33.2C outside 17% humidity, warm, dry air and hazy dust clouds

Comparing that to the UK weather i've been sent i don't want to sound ungrateful but going outside i get itchy/dry eye balls, sore throat and am hiding inside where it is only 25c with everything shut up !

Why did you have your gas heaters on or something

If you're saying it was 40c now, then you're talking about temps of 60+c by July

Not necessarily. It has been unseasonably warm this week as winds blow in hot air and dust from the Sahara, which isn't exactly pleasant. Such weather is not that rare, and doesn't mean we will have 60 degrees, or anything like it in the summer. The highest temperature I have known Paphos was 48 degrees, but it rarely gets that hot - and certainly not by the coast. 40 degrees is not unusual, but around Paphos yesterday it was 32. It was 24 at 7am this morning and cooler weather (even rain) is forecast for later in the week. It's not the heat that's going to be a problem this summer, but the lack of water!

Thats right KG, I agree, but also it depends on where you are sitting - on some of our balconies it is not as hot as by our pool.

KG, didn't you see the News post regarding water :o

Apparently, the Greek government are going to supply us with 8 million cubic litre to help out, only down side is, we're 16.8m short & it won't get here until July, as they have to build a new pipeline over there & here

As for temps, I worked out in 45c back in the 99 summer on the coast at Akrotiri, refueling bowsers & aircraft, had a fantastic sun tan that year

Last year, we had 39c up in Tsada & no power for ac or fans

I tell you what, it's properly uncomfortable in my place today - got the windows open and the ceiling fan going but I'm still sweating away - feels like that hot spell we had in June last year! :(

Feels a fair bit cooler to me today, but still that dusty murkiness everywhere - my eyes have been playing up something rotten this week! :(

We have had what looks like rain clouds up in Narnia. And the Sneaky Beaky disappeared in the clouds earlier on today. Has been blowing something fierce all day.

I have had the windows open at night, but still haven't taken the electric blanket off the bed. You never know when you might need it. We are still only in March.
