 When you're both quite finished!

In answer to the original question, the knack to eating such a packed sarnie lies in getting a good firm grip, using both hands to keep it in place, and then just wedging it in as quickly as possible....

Yep. That sounds familiar. I am glad you clarified that it was about eating a sarnie, though.

The latest installment comes from last night's Valentine's dinner extravaganza - Mrs F had typically reneged on our agreement not to buy each other presents (you really would think i would have learned by now! ) so the pressure was on!

Created a fine meal with pan-fried chicken livers followed by roast beef (medium-rare) with a roast potato medley, brocolli, carrots and my speciality rosemary gravy :D Went very well indeed, even if I do say so myself!

Best bit is I made loads, so there's leftovers for tea tonight! :D

Any other fine dishes created by the chaps out there??

Make the most of it. If Mrs. CF brings me some custom following the romance of the night the chicken livers will be off the menu and the steak will have to be well cooked for the next nine months.

Last night we did something we never do........... we had a take away.
A set meal for four from the local Thai take away. It was very very nice and more than enough for four. Main meals were Garlic King Prawns, Thaipan Duck,Chicken Green Curry and Hot Spicy Beef.
All this for £35 ! and that included two bottles of wine thrown in
We'll do it again, at that price it's not worth lighting the oven !
Gary

 I've told you Verity, you'll be getting no business from the Fantastic household!!

Tonght's tea is a rare treat with the good lady wife cooking, her speciality chicken breast with spiced cherry tomato couscous served with pitta bread and lashings of tzatziki - always a culinary triumph!

I know you lot over in Paphos can get this anytime but I'm doing meatballs in a tomato and cinnamon sauce followed by Greek salad with Feta and chicken and Lamb kebabs, fried halloumi and some of that posh Greek ice cream with honey for sweet.
Hope everyone likes it !

Right, I've been inspired by "Ready Steady Cook" this week, and have taken to picking out a main ingredient each morning and then challenging Mrs F to find a recipe for me to cook for tea that evening....

Chicken livers was today's offering and she's provided me a recipe for them cooked in red wine with bacon, onions and olives - sounds promising and I'm confident in producing something decent! :D Bonus is I only need a little bit of red wine for the recipe, so get to drink the rest with it!

What's everyone else dining on this fine evening?

CF really pushed the boat out last night with his Paella. We had some king prawns in the fridge and he just threw this culinary delight together.

Just delicious!

I'm hungry now!

Ok... tonight I am trying my own style..
I have cut the chicken breasts (did I say breasts  )
into stips (strips  )
They have been marinated overnight in the fridge..
Today i will cut a mixture of red, orange, yellow peppers into
STRIPS ! (this is getting worse  )
I will fry the (GOD DAM STRIPS  )
then I grill the(BREASTS  ) ......
until firm, tender and brown oh god help me
To compliment these i have made my very own chillie sauce
I have a tub of sour cream and a packet of tortiilia wraps..
along with a nice Tossed (did I say Tossed  ) salad

grilled chicken strips with fried peppers, wrapped in tortillia with sour cream and chillie sauce
Side salad

We are having stir fry chicken with a gluten free chilli sauce that Phil found in the supermarket. He thought he would give it a go.

He usually makes his own, but he is being lazy tonight.

I also have a goody bag of GF biccies and chocolates that a friend bought over from the UK.

Party time!

I got force fed liver when I was expecting Nathan, 23 years ago next Wednesday. It put me off for life.

I am going to bake a cake today to celebrate Kieran's birthday as he is 25 today. I did all the hard work on the day, so I figure I should get cake!

I love the liver at the Neptune in Coral Bay. He lightly coats in breadcrumbs, then pan fries, served with crispy bacon and crispy fried onions - absolutely scrummy!

Have been really busy this last couple of weeks so have been tending to eat out and get takeaways a little too often, but back into the healthy regime tonight - going to knock together some nice pork chops (with apple sauce naturally) and serve with a mountain of carrots and cabbage.

Looking forward to it already! :D

Full of calcium by all accounts, Ruth. Phil is going to cook them for me as I don't think I am getting enough calcium in my GF diet.
