The health ministry on Thursday said it was in urgent need of type AB+ and B+ blood. Calling on the public to donate, it said they needed 120 vials of blood to cover emergency cases.

All blood donation centres across the country will remain open until 8pm in a bid to help garner as many donations as possible.

Some stations will be open until 6pm such as the one in Larnaca, but the staff will move to Arena stadium until 8pm.

Additionally, Famagusta’s blood donation centre will remain open until 6pm but the staff will move to the Avgorou organised groups until 9pm.
