Just returned to the UK after what turned out to be 7+days with Jet 2

Sat in airport waiting to leave UK, 2+hrs late leaving.
The Alecos Hotel was terrible.
Disco music thudding up through floor till 5am first two nights.
Two windows with roller blinds, one didn't work the other was not the full width of the window so no full privacy.
Had to insist for a change of room.
Had to pay 55 euros or vacate our room at 11 am on the last day although not being picked up until 1940 pm.
After sitting for several hours in the airport departure lounge finally told that our flight was cancelled.
Driven all the way back to Paphos to spend another night in another hotel in Paphos.
After breakfast driven back to spend Tuesday in Paphos airport and finally arrive home on Wednesday.
Only entertainment was Karaoke type singers no bands, So many places now closed. Bar Street was very sad now.

You really seem to be unlucky in your choices. I fly Ryan air Paphos to Tallinn couple of times a year , whilst Ryan airs strick rules annoy sometimes, they do seem to get their planes going and usually run a little ahead of schedule. Of course I flew in a different direction and probably missed out on the regular air traffic controllers strikes . Think yourself lucky you didn't head Spain direction , that would have given you reams of comments.
Your complaint of noise pollution is a widespread problem ! My advice is avoid tourist areas. Where I live I get to hear many live acts I don't want to , a good number sound awful.

11am vacation time is pretty much standard worldwide. Do you expect the hotelier to lose a day's rental so you can occupy the room until departure time?

Are you familiar with EU rules relating to delayed/cancelled flights and compensation payable thereon? Our Easyjet flight was delayed by just over 4 hours a few years back. We pressed for compensation directly with Easyjet and got around €600 back for the two of us. Do not be tempted to use agents who claim to secure compensation from airlines to save you the bother. If the airline has genuine reasons for not compensating you, your travel insurance should provide some compensation.

When booking hotels, I spend ages going through customer reviews on Travel Advisor and similiar sites so I know fully what to expect from my stay. Generally, if you stay in cheap/budget hotels, you will be disappointed; but I do not know if the Alecos Hotel falls into this category.

Just read reviews for the Alecos , it appears an economy hotel almost on bar st. Not a places I would go as You are on top of many clubs and all the clubbers that flow in and out , probably great if your club 18/30 .
Based on your comments I recommend you look away from downtown areas . Perhaps along tomb of the kings road anywhere between Paphos Mall and Chloraka. Plenty of life but not clubbers paradise. Whilst I blonde about the " free entertainment " I must be truthful it NEVER goes on into the wee hours. The bus service is good along Tomb of the kings rd if your not into hiring a car.
I agree with yakflier vacating room by 11.00 is normal i have had 9.00 in the past . Bigger hotels MIGHT have a common room for peole to share but generally either your out ! Or pay for another night . We often lived out of the rental car for the day as we would drop the car off at airport.
I have heard too much bad about all inclusive food , how true I don't know ? But I am sure cheaper hotels are worse than expensive hotels. I always favour self catering or b and b. I like to explore so being tied to the hotel is a nuisance.
