I am not shy - those who may know me from another forum will know that already. So I am just saying hello, and that I am happy to be a member of a new Pafos forum.

I wasn't aware that you had to stick to one forum. I will post wherever I want to - it isn't about being loyal. I am a free spirit. So far my knuckles have not been rapped, and if they are I will say the same thing. Unless anyone wants to pay me for exclusive rights, of course.

Forums are about people, not ownership. Without the work behind the scenes, and the generosity of the members in terms of information and banter, they would not exist.

I am led to believe that this forum is going to be led by what the members want. Only time will tell.

It is fun to watch a new project evolve and establish. Good luck to PaphosPeople. I wish it success.

I just think each forum has something exclusive that it offers, and it will attract its membership because of that. I like to dip in and see who is posting what. You never know what you might learn.

I was hoping that this site might be more light hearted and people would be happier, I hope so, cause there is enough rubbish in life without having to watch every single little word you say

Glad to see you back & hope you're able to visit us more often once your internet is working properly

As for our forum being lighthearted, we'd like to think that it is, even if now & then we have some serious topics, but as life is both serious & lighthearted, so it shall be on here

As for members being able to voice their opinions, we have no objection to this, as long as its within the guidelines of our T&C's.

We'd like to think our members are people who can exchange ideas, provide advice or anything else they feel could help each other out, thats why you'll always see our Administrators & Moderators joining in conversations & adding their own thoughts too

So feel free to post your thoughts & join in when you feel like it, as that's what our forum is all about in the end

Hiya, quick hello from the work PC, naughty I know
Not been able to get broadband for 3 weeks at home, and yes Verity I agree it feels like you are missing something.
Hopefully Digby is sorting us out today and changing a box on the roof next week. Fingers crossed it will be ok for a while then.
So I'll be joining in again as normal

Way to go, Paula. It is liberating to have the internet up and running freely. It is terrible when it suddenly goes off. Poor Digby gets a text as soon as I realise I am without it. Even on Sundays cos I reckon that he can then do something about it first thing on a Monday. He has the patience of a saint.

Trish, thank you for asking. My knee is painful. I went down to Lara yesterday and it was probably a stupid thing to do, even with my knee brace and crutches. Walking on the beach twists your joints at the best of times. Just couldn't resist the blue skies and the warm sunshine yesterday afternoon, though.

The Orthopod has a clinic on Thursdays and Fridays, but as I am going in for my biopsy on Thursday I can't make either clinic to get my knee looked at. Will have to wait until next week.

There are worse things to contend with. It is just annoying, this getting older lark.

Didn't realise your knee was that bad Verity, really hope you can get it sorted. I hate this getting old, everything starts to give up, life might begin at 40 but the body certainly doesn't

Don't I know what you mean Verity - went to the docs yesterday - decided I'd better get this hoarse throat sorted out. Back today for blood tests, then back again Friday for the results Blood pressure up, and suspects the throat thing may be due to thyroid And all this 3 weeks before my birthday! Can do without it quite honestly - can't wait to finish work. May have to be sooner rather than later.

I had a friend who had thyroid tablets Jean and she was fine after a while of taking them, they have to get into your system though.
There has been a lot of funny throat virus' lateley, so hopefully it's just that. 2 ladies at work lost their voice for a week and still not completeley back now.
All these tourists bringing their germs in
