It was lovely to meet new people, and great to see some familiar faces too. Mandy - thank you so much for bringing chocolate biscuits and brownies. It has made my day. Gluten free treats and really yummy.

We did miss one or two people who said they hoped to be there, and you were mentioned and thought about. But as Jean says, we did make a bit of noise. I think we took over the place.

Piglet - hope you have got yourself prepared for all that exercise you have got planned. Do some limbering up first otherwise you will get stiff. :D

Can the Coffee Afternoons occasionally be on Wednesday (like last time) because it's the only afternoon I don't work. I know we can't chop and change for everyone but I'd just like to come along sometimes. :) :)

I suggested this at the beginning of this post. Not everyone can make the same day, so it makes sense to alternate it.

What do others think?

Yes, I think that's the best way - Wednesdays one time, then another day, then Wednesday again. This means that lots of people can come, and the lucky ones who don't work (ME   ) can go to them all

ALSO It was nice to see Helen again, who came all the way from Erimi to join us - nice one Helen. Glad everything's going well, and next time you're across the road from me, give me a shout

Jean it was nice to come a long and see 'old' faces and put names to new ones. It is nearly 2 years since we met at a get together similar to this

As these are to be regular I can plan work in the area on that day and better still if they are to be Weds occasionally I can get to the market too

We won't tell Dave so he will think I am working hard

It is amazing that our friend Janis lives opposite you. She is due over at the end of the month so will be seeing her then
Till the next time
Helen

Less of the "old" faces, Helen. You can go off people you know.

Whilst I think about it I think we need to book Jessie from 18th to 22nd - pick up on 18th, return on 22nd May. I will ring you nearer the time to arrange times for pick up and drop off. Sorry to use this as a medium for communication but I will only forget if I don't tell you now.

Good to see you yesterday.

Hi all.

Sorry I didn't make it to the coffee afternoon. My customer called me to say she had to wait in for the 'air-con. man'
so I thought would take the opportunity to catch up with some work as I had a busy morning in the front of the shop and not the back where all the action is!
Pauline(customer) is here for a week and wanted to know if there is another get together as she is really keen to meet people.

Jill.

Hi Verity

'old ' faces are nice. To go along to a get together and see people you have known for sometime makes you feel completely settled and at home one benefit I had not expected when we made our move. We came for a more relaxed life and the sunshine but had not expected to get to know so many nice people. I can honestly say I know more people over here in 18 months than I did in 24 years in Yorkshire

Dates for Jessie are fine, will talk to you nearer the time

Helen

Jill - missed you. You might make it next time. There is another get together - the Taverna Club - but it is really full so unfortunately your customer has missed that one.

Helen - thanks for Jessie dates. Will be contacting you about my birthday, too, if you fancy meeting a few more people.

Really enjoyed my first coffee afternoon, it was really good to meet so many of you, and to put faces to names.
I am not usually around when you get together. I hope it will be the first of many
Thanks Jean for organising it, and for sorting out the bill!! Here is a belated birthday cake for Alex

Hi.

Will there be a meet-up this week as I would like to introduce you to Pauline,(the lady who was attacked) she was disappointed that she couldn't make it last time but asked about this week and I told her it wasn't a weekly thing.

Hi All

Arrived home safely early hours of Sunday morning to snow!! Trying again today.

Had a really great afternoon on Thursday being able to put names to faces. The biggest shock was Verity!!! No I do not mean how she looked but how she sounded. Just never imagined her with a brummy accent!!! She will probably kill me for that! Enjoyed the banter about Piglet and her exercise machine! Maria also enjoyed herself so I will have to try and convert her to becoming a member. No seriously though she does not go on the internet very much so I doubt she will join but it did help get some tips about when they move over in about December. I will just have to keep her informed on all the gossip.

Do not know when we will be over again, will dependind on the Courts, but hope some other meeting will be going on when we do.

Saturday afternoon would also be good :D (my other half day!), especially when David works all weekend I'm often at a loose end.

Trouble is I would need a lift from Chloraka if anyone could oblige? :) :)

Any chance that there could be a morning coffee as I have 2 kids and am at home with them in afternoon.
I would love to meet people but afternoons are difficult as hubby works, but is at home in the mornings.
Any one else in the same boat??
Thanks Sarah

How could I let this go without comment???

I am not a Brummy, and I don't have a Brummy accent.

I come from Wolverhampton, which is not strictly the Black Country, but is often classed as such. The Black Country accent is the oldest in England - older than the adapted "Queen's English".

So, in reality, I speak perfect English and it is the rest of you common lot wot have an accent. Aw rite, rooster?

Hi Verity

I knew you would have to reply. Sorry I did not mean to offend you by calling you a brummy but wasn't sure which area exactly you were from.:booboo

I actually quite like the accent from that general area, I originate from the midlands but the East Mildands (Leicester). Anyway it was lovely to meet you and I can now put a voice with the name and the face!

You haven't offended me, Lyn. It would take a lot more than being called a Brummie. I have been called much worse in my time.  I couldn't let that statement go unanswered though, could I? :D

It was good to meet you, too. See you at another coffee afternoon in the future. They are sure to be arranged from time to time.
