That age-old coptic chart appears to be spot on again. As weather around the world jump off the reliability scale, the coptic storms stick to their rigid timetable.

Expect moderate-to-strong gale force winds coming from West-North-West as the cold system moves in from over Turkey over the weekend.

Winds forecast to start picking up from early Saturday morning through to late Monday AM. Could get intense.

Stake your new trees/bushes, fix your outside furniture, cluster your plant pots ... and tie your mother down !

PS. KG : if my umbrella ends up in your pool - you can keep it ! :)

Well as long as it's blowing down the valley, then I won't get all those flaming leaves & crap in my pool, I'll be a happy chappy :D :D :D

There was a bit yesterday ... and day before.

From poring over the charts, consulting the elders and doing the rain dance ... I reckon it will rain 2-3cm between Saturday and Sunday night !! :joker

Mark my words .... the future is windy and wet

We may get snow. I sort of hope so. I missed it last time.

It is bound to be stormy weather. Phil has bought some wood treatment to do the pergola so that we can get some sailcloth put up for the summer. It was lovely last weekend, not even windy, and he hadn't got the stuff.

Typical.

The Athens University forecast suggests some really nasty (relative to last couple of days) weather in next 48 hours ... no sign of it yet mind. 8)

If i were Michael Fish i`d say "following a viewer writing in, there will be no hurricane tomorrow" .....

Well it is very windy up in Narnia and Phil has just come inside after tidying up some stuff outside and his little face is freezing.

Coupled with the clouds it is not looking too promising up here today. Got the log burner on the go. I love blustery days when I am snug inside.

Very cloudy here in Peyia, but no wind to speak of just yet - hope it picks up, I was looking forward to a good storm!

Besides, I don't want to have to lose faith in the weather forecasting abilities of BigDutch "Michael Fish" Geoff! :D

It definitely needs seeing to. A good lancing and some antibiotics should do the trick.

i thought this coptic was meant to be coming from turkey?

We are surrounded by cloud. I put my ear plugs in last night so that I could block out the sound of the wind whistling and the gate clanking. Phil has now closed the gates, so tonight should be a little less noisy.

It reminds me of Bude beach. We took our German Shepherd there for a run on a day similar to today. We had to stand behind a rock cos we couldn't stay upright, and the poor dog was being bowled over by the wind.

Ain't Mother Nature awesome?

The downside to sleeping with earplugs in was that I didn't hear Phil ask me if I wanted a coffee.

Don't want to miss out on my morning coffee in bed.

it is .... the system comes from WNW of Cyprus but the winds travel around the system (direction of earth spinning for low pressure) so depending where you are relative to the centre of the system you will have winds coming from different directions as the system moves past. The warm front was Saturday afternoon which was placid really, now the cold front is moving through and is viscious !

It arrived half-day later than the forecasts suggested but fair to say its been wet, windy and cold ... brrrr

Thats the one thing I did hate in U.K. Frank, the fog. Real scary when you cant see where you are going, never mind that you cant see the conditions of the roads either.
