If they all have time on their hands does that mean they are retired? If so, although I am not retired, I can relate to why they don't want animals.
After over 30 years of having animals I won't have any more. We love them, but they are a tie. We want some time for us, and want to be able to decide to book into an hotel on the spur of the moment, or take off for the weekend if we want. It would be irresponsible of us to take on any more pets, given that we know what we want from this stage in our lives.
I would rather be honest about how I feel than do what some people do. They let their hearts rule their heads, give homes to animals, then a couple of months or years down the road they decide that they can't take them with them when they move, or they have jobs and are not at home to give time to the animals. Or they simply don't want them any more. Then the poor animals are uprooted, put into shelters, dumped. How must they feel?
It is great to see people who genuinely care for animals, who give them homes and make the commitment. But so many don't.
It would be great to see these kittens homed. But only by people who will make a commitment to the animal for the next 15 plus years. They are not toys.
Good luck in finding them homes, Paula. I know you are committed to animals and they are lucky to have you rooting for them.
