I think you're right, I heard of someone who had a large win but was not paid out when it emerged the ticket was purchased online and traced to a Cyprus IP address. Not sure of all the facts but it would be worth checking rather than lose out on millions!

Hi Tarrah, we play the local lottery, not quite millions but a few hundred thousand is'nt to be sniffed at, there are two branches that we know of, one next to Paphos Trade Centre in Chlorakas and the other is on the harbour road on the left hand side just down from the Corner Kiosk.

They are only 9 countries that can play in the Euro Lottery and Cyprus isn't one them.

Link here to the countries which can.

I went through to the link and further down toward the end is this para :

Generally speaking, to buy a Euro Millions lottery ticket the normal way you would have to be a resident of one of the nine participating member countries where you could pick up your ticket from a lottery retailer. However, with the introduction of internet based lottery ticket sales agents you can now purchase your desired amount of EuroMillions lotto tickets no matter where you live in the world.

So not sure now???

To play UK National Lottery games online, you must be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man at all times. You must also only play in a country where it is lawful to do so, as local laws abroad often prevent the sale or purchase of tickets for any overseas lottery, including the UK National Lottery. This also applies when playing by text.

If you do not meet these requirements, any ticket purchases you make may be declared invalid and no prizes paid, and we will have the right to reclaim any prizes already paid under these circumstances.

When/If you go back to the U.K. you could set up a direct debit there, that should cover you.
