i have been to the duck pond aswell and richards book swap was more expensive, plus it was nice to find a shop with friendly staff that is open 6 days aweek, thinking about it how can a shop be cheaper than a boot seller after all they have a lot more overheads than richards 2 days aweek. |

If Richard is the same one that was at Timi a couple of years ago then his books are reasonable and as you say he has loads! Personally, I couldn't have lived there without him |

I usually stock up at the Duck Pond - 3 to 3.50 per book but you get half that back when you take them back so can't go wrong really. Really big selection these days too - always spend ages trying to decide, keeps me busy while the missus checks out the clothers and make-up stalls! |

Being relatively new to the area, I wonder if You could tell me the location of both the St. Georges Hotel, the Friends Hospice Charity Shop, and the Duck Pond market. It sounds like they all have good prices on books |

Hi albers, dont know what side Paphos you are coming from, if from the Peyia, go past the new golfing range on your left you cant miss it. The next traffic lights are St Georges traffic lights, go right at the lights and St Georges Hotel in front of you. Go left at the lights up the hill, you see the Railway pub on your right, next door is the first Charity shop, go further you will find I think another 2 charitys shop, you can get some good bargins, book, DVDs clothes etc. Back to the lights go straight ahead, ( normally ) but a diversion at the moment follow the diversion when you get back onto the main road to Paphos, maybe 200 hundred metres, you should see a sign Duckpond Market, take a left. The left turn is at a Kiosk called Mikes.....regds...Richard |

Hi Is that fact or just your opinion? I have bought many books from both outlets and have been quite satisfied with what I have paid for, however as far as I am aware Richard sells his books on the understanding that you can exchange the book for a fifty percent discount on your next book purchase once you have read it. So from that you have to say that they are not like for like. As far as being friendly is concerned, you could not find a more helpful friendly chap imho. How can anyone give bad feedback to Richards book exchange at the Duckponds market. We have been going to him since we have been here. Always friendly & chatty. ALWAYS the latest books I don't know how he does this. The prices are competitive & he is fair. How can anyone give this guy a bad revue. We will continue getting our books from there, because we always get a good deal. Paul |

I flew back from the UK on the 13th and bought the new Harlan Coben book at WH Smith in the airport - I was telling Richard this on the Sunday (17th), to which he said, Oh, I've had that - it's out again now! Now you can't get more up to date than that! |

I always have a look everywhere. I get loads from Richard at DP I get loads from Charity shop on Chloraka Hill, I think it's the same one the lovely Sue works in. I've bought a few from the bookstore across from Paps in Chloraka - they have brand new books 3 for 10 euros and a nice big range that I like. I used to buy a lot from Amazon, but haven't for ages as we've managed to get them all cheap as chips here. I also pinch them from y family and friends when they come over on holiday!! Yxx |
